If they trade Max for veteran players in a futile attempt at the SC, that will be reason IMHO.

If Only that was the haul, not likely though.

Stanley Cup ? The problem is as the poster you respondws to said, MB is gunning just to make the post season so that he keeps his job, because that is the goal as set by Molson.

Our only salvation is if MB is offered a young C who could help now and in future. Rumour was MB wanted Trochek from Florida which is a ridiculous ask. The target should have been Borgstrom.

My worry is MB turns down a Borgstrom type player because he doesnt think tjat player will help enough to get us post season and therefore help him keep his job. So MB then settles on a help now older but not particularly high ceiling player.

If thats what happens it is Molsons fault for setting up a scenario wherby MBs self interest is at odds with that of the teams best interest.

Since everyone is in on the Draftwire fun:

4. Zadina
35. Dellandrea
38. Sandin
56. Hillis
62. Alexeyev (LOL!)
66. Foudy
97. Kurashev
111. Topping
123. Roman
128. Shafigullin

Tkabust I was prepping to take with a second because that guy dropped into the late teens. IIRC, he was picked by Philly at around #20.

Boqvist is legit so smooth. I've rarely seen him put his teammates in trouble and even when they mess up his play, he's already back to nullify it.

He's pretty much unpressurable at this level. If he can't blow past you with his skating, he'll beat you with a pass up ice. At the very worst, he'll reverse it to his D partner.

You lack charisma. Not one team asked if you wanted their 1st rounders for your sole pick.

The killer Bs (Boqvist and Berggren, not Bagwell and Biggio) have really dominated the tourney on the Swedish end. Boy do I ever wish we could draft them both.

There's an article and an interview with Boqvist today on aftonbladet/sportbladet. He has played 8 games in a fairly short time (4 U18, 1 national team friendly and 3 J20 friendly) and he's been on 1 minus goal and that was a J20 friendly, he has 6 points and plus 4 in the U18 before today's game.

At the perfect time too, he's probably managed to separate himself from Hughes and Dobson for a lot of people. I don't like putting too much emphasis on tournaments but even I have to admit he's been very impressive.

That would have me doing backflips in my livingroom. Probably breaking both my ankles .
