I had Thomas in the early 20s most of the year, but he really did progress substantially. It's true though, he was pretty inconsistent and invisible at times. But he really brought his game up to a high level down the end stretch and in the playoffs. With the production, hands, shooting, playmaking, speed, he's got good upside for a mid first pick.

I can see why some scouts have merkley so low, risky d-man, takes too much risk and while he has really good puck moving ability the decisions are slow
