Whole play was pretty much Hughes but a nice pinch by Miller to keep possession.

Also Wahlstrom can score dem garbage goals too.

I disagree. I'm still waiting for you to tell me what he doesn't have.

He doesnt have the tools to be a 50 points guy consistently. He scores goals in the Allsvenskan, buy his shooting technique is lacking and goalies dont give up these goals in the NHL. His release is OK, but he gets little power behind his shot and im not sure of the accuracy. His skating is fine, edgework is okay, strength is lacking, his reach sucks, did he even take a single one timer? Cant remember.

His production is great, but Timra gives a lot of playing time to their youngsters, which is unusual for SHL/Allsvenskan.

It comes down to this, how will he produce in the NHL? Around the net. How do you produce around the net? Strength, edge work, release, recklessness, active stickwork and an uncanny ability to roof pucks. Hallander is okay to fine in most of those, but I dont expect him to be much of a player. Lekhonen on good days maybe?

All Merkley does is hang on to the puck and look for cross ice passes. That's the whole thing, his entire game summarized in a single sentence. He doesn't do a single thing beyond that.

Truly if I was the Habs GM, trading with the NYI's for their 10th & 12th OV picks, then using a couple of 2nd's to move up or trade down to get the players they deem the best fit, would be the big Priority. This would ensure having a truly great young core group going forward. Getting Dahlin, Boqvist, Bouchard, Dobson, Smith at least one of the defencemen, preferably two of them, Then trade down for one of Hayton, Kotkaneimi or Veleno, leaving a few picks for the 2nd round for project type prospects. This is the direction the Habs need to go, Weber & Price are still going to be powers for another five yrs. minimum IMHO!!!...:popcorn::popcorn:

I don't think you watched the right player. A lot of his goals were one timers around the net. He best goalies clean with a great hard and accurate shot. Shows great hands knocking pucks down and creating interceptions and setting teammates up in good scoring positions.
