I see what you’re saying but I don’t think Juulsen, Brook nor Fleury show top pairing potential. I also don’t think Hughes has the potential of Dobson. You can put Noah in any situation, Hughes is never going to play on a PK.
Dobson is definitely going to be a great D. Except we need an offensive D, pretty much every team has one. Mete’s solid but he’s never going to become a 40-50 point D. Weber is great on the PP but by no means is he an offensive D.

Hughes gives us someone to play with Weber probably as soon as 2019-2020, and we get that elite puck carrier we’ve solely needed since MB stupidly traded Subban and Sergachev.

You were ambushed by a prospects stalker on roids, who imagined himself having Tkachuk's "bloodlines".

Moral of the story: go to a different barber. :sarcasm:

Ha ha.

No chance. This is my barber.
Stalker guy is like us, hoping for the right steps to get us on track for no.25. But it was funny. Doesn't want a hair cut.

People have been looking for the next Lucic since the first Lucic, and they haven't found him. Lucic was as much an era as he was a player. IMO, he didn't suddenly become a totally different player: the league changed, and it drastically decreased his value. I don't particularly feel like spending a 3rd overall pick to find out if I'm wrong about this.
I don't think the league has changed so much that prime years Lucic wouldn't still wreak havoc. The downside however is once these players get banged up and the legs start to slow down, the decline is rapid and more often than not inevitable.

It's like his hands turned to stone this season.

Every game report on Iskhakov mentions how he's two steps ahead of the play, tough to knock off the puck, has the agility and compete to take on bigger players. Which is good because I always thought the same but it's nice to see that it's a common theme.

Man, the team that gambles on him could be hugely rewarding.

Not a fan. If I'm wrong then I'll admit it, but I don't like him very much.

He's got good hands, but he's also really good at cutting to the net and shooting in the slot.

Also a good playmaker. He's one of those guys where "character" and "attitude" actually applies. He's very thorough in the way he tries to improve the game. Not sure he has high end upside, but with a little bit of work on his skating and strength, he can turn out pretty good. I'd take the bet on him over Veleno or Olofsson.

I'm tied up in knots on Kotkaniemi.

I have seen so many 1st round fails on account of skating issues I should be 100% against drafting him.

But. Is his skating that bad ?

Monahan, Horvat, Rantanen.. etc, all had skating concerns and look now.

I didn't start watching the guy until this year but I have read many times that his skating was really bad , that he works on it every day, and that he has improved a lot. That means something.

I have seen pictures of the guy in shorts and his legs are skinny. He will add muscle mass including on those legs.

This is guy is smart, he is poised, has a shot to keep defenders honest, makes great passes and really sees things happening and developing. Really like him.

But yeah, at no.3 you really don't want something like skating to be a thing because there are other unseen things that causes guys to bust, let alone something that you actually can see and others see.

Usually I'm a fair guy I think on drafting so if we pick a guy that is not an inherently stupid pick, like Big Mac or Tinner, I say well that's how it goes. Not now. Unless everybody from 3 to 10 sucks, TT has to nail it and get us a top line forward or top pair D. He has gone too long in not adding top forward talent and except for Sergachev has been weak there as well.

Interesting that the highly praised HockeyProspect Black book has Tkachuk at #3. Edwards says the guy is grossly underrated.

It's highly praised because of the amount of content that's available in it.. not because they accurately predict who's going to be better. I disagree with a lot of their rankings, but you're getting quotes from actual scouts and a boat load of game reports from each player.. the other draft guides don't do that.

I would be completely comfortable taking Morozov with our first 2nd round pick. Natural two way center. Good frame, commitment on both ends of the ice, smart player, got plus offensive skills in every category.

I thought Iskhakov was playing a typical perimeter KHL game at the 5 nations, couldnt see his game translate well to N.A., he is really quick and has some great hands though.

I know I’m wrong but I want pure skills at #3 I want a guy that has gamebreaking skills. I will be deceive if its either Tkachuk Dobson. I want Zadina Kotka Boqvist Hughes

You're downplaying Dobson's skill so hard. Skating is a skill, y'know, as is defensive play and hockey IQ.
