Just watched one of Dobson’s interviews for the combine. Man is he ever scrawny. There’s no muscle on his arms. Once he fills out, he’s going to be an absolute force. Also very impressed that he did the testing, he must be completely drained. Teams will love that. I think it’s between him and Jesperi for the Habs.

Hughes probably weighs the same as Dobson despite being like 5 ft shorter

For those that were in love with Sergachev in his draft year, Dobson was just as impressive offensively (though not as big of a shot) but miles ahead defensively. Really think the Habs brass love him.

Grab him then use all four 2nds on forwards, I’m down with that.

Can't agree. Sergachev was electrifying offensiely. I know its cliche but it is tougher to value Dobson offensively because he is in the Q. He has the tools imo, but it's literally my main question with him. How much of his offensive capability will he be able to carry over into the NHL? Because he has everything else.

But I do agree with you on taking the dman now. Much better forwards later on in the draft compared to dmen.

The more I hear about Dobson, the more I’d be okay if we selected him. When this kid fills out he’ll be a force. Still want Zadina though.....

I think this is quite possible.

Dobson is the Sergachev of this draft for me. Not in the style or skill set, but in that he's the sexy combination of athletic freakness, skills and smarts.

I wouldn't be pissed if that was the turnout of the draft. Some have suggested to go with a D with our pick since the rest of the draft is pretty mediocre for defenders after the first round unlike the forwards.

Sergachev was 33 points away from the team lead in points, Dobson was 7. I think it’s a lot closer than people think. Like I said, Mikhail has the harder shot, but Dobson is the smarter player.

It's a tough call because I still think we should go BPA. But you also have to factor in if you believe we are in the same position next year. Maybe the whole team plays a lot better and we get a mid 1st. That could influence your BPA vs Needs. I don't know who is BPA at 3, they are all damn close, so I would want a dman/center.

In 2014 there was a deal to trade up into the first round with very similar picks to what we have this year:

Tampa trades 28 (Josh Ho-Sang) to N.Y. Islanders for 35 (Dominik Masin) and 57 (Johnathon MacLeod)

We have almost those exact picks with our own 2nd (35th) and Toronto's 2nd (56th). How high could #35 and 38 together get us? Probably early 20s based on this. It all depends on who's willing to move down. San Jose picks 21st and has no 2nd or 3rd rounder this year. Ottawa (via Pittsburgh) picks 22nd and has no 2nd or 3rd rounder either.

Larry Fisher from TheHockeyWriters posted a full 7 round mock.

For the Habs:
6: Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Has Svechnikov going 3rd, but thinks Detroit would trade up.
35: Nicholas Beaudin
38: Serron Noel
56: Filip Hallander
62: Philipp Kurashev
66: Ryan O'Reilly
97: Danila Galenyuk
102: Adam McCormick
122: Joey Keane
128: Gabriel Fortier

Couldnt disagree more. Sergachev was an absolute offensive dynamo that would tear your team apart if he felt like it or if he was given space, Dobson just doesnt do that. Hes so tamed and shows unwillingness to carry the play past the blue line.

Yeah outside of stealing Hallander there, I hate his draft.

I'll paraphrase the rest of the stuff, by now, you guys have a good idea of what the content is like for the Blackbook and I know some of their staff is here, so I don't wanna give too much away.. Love it every year though.
