If we're looking to trade down to #5, as LeBrun insinuated, I'd think that really points to the Habs leaning towards taking Kotkaniemi.

Passing on Zadina will still hurt for me. I think he develops into 60-70 point 35-40 goal scorer. He's solidified himself at #3 for me, with some separation from the pack of players ranked 4-10 in my eyes.

I'm never a fan of picking for position, but if Timmins has Kotkaniemi on equal footing (or better) as Zadina, Dobson, Boqvist, Wahlstrom, Hughes, etc, then he's the right pick.
If we move down to 5 and get something of quality back, I'd be happy with Kotkaniemi. Taking Kotkaniemi at 3 and gift wrapping Zadina to the Sens would be dumb though.

What do the Coyotes have that could be a realistic and nice add to 5 in return for 3?

Idk, I get the feeling the Habs would just pick Dobson at 3. He's consistently ranked in the top 5. Not so much for Kotkaniemi.
They might value Dobson and Kotkaniemi pretty evenly too, so if one gets picked, the other isnt...

I'm not sure what it would take to be honest. I' be kind of disappinted if it was just a 2nd rounder though.

I don't want Zadina on the Sens either. I want them to take Tkachuk.

@TT1 posted this earlier and I’m with you, adding a second wouldn’t be enough.

I’d ask for at least a second this year and a second in 2019, but even that wouldn’t exactly get me excited at all.

Eh, Arizona really doesn't have much to offer in terms of picks. They don't even have their own 2nd, they have Minny's 55. A 2nd this year and one next year would be the minimum.

Speaking of American centers. Here's some more sexy plays by O'Brien at that last tournament with Cape Cod. He's #9.

Also uploading a 2 game USHL highlights pack on YT. @thefeebster must have crazy internet for those hours long packs.

I can't get these to load. Any chance you might be able to put them up on YouTube?

That's a pretty good player comparison actually. He's got a scrappy but very smart and skilled game, like Point.

One of the things I like the most is he's an absolute puck thief. I've yet to see a game where he doesn't strip the puck from someone by out-smarting them or just by sheer hustle. He's really good at cutting off angles.

In a vacuum and assuming no one of value has fallen by the end of the first round, where would you be comfortable making a play for O'Brien?

Let's assume he doesn't make it to the Habs's first pick of the second round.
