I think Montreal will draft Kotkaniemi with a second 1st this year from a Pacioretty trade. Considering he's only 17 and is already a top 10 pick, if he were 18, we'd be looking potentially at a top 5 ranked player so he has the age that Timmins targets. I believe Poehling was also young for his draft year so had an extra year of development available.

This is the hope....

Perfect for me would be a first round consisting of Zadina, Kotkaniemi and Kravtsov......I don't care how it happens, make it happen.

I was talking about Dahlin.....love Dobson btw

oh I was talking about the 'rest' after Dahlin.. and what's this about Dahlin's family history and Arthritis? Apparently it is very serious.. his brother had to retire from the game.. scary thought.

Not sure I see any team in the top 10 giving up their pick for Pacioretty, and I don't see Kotka going past Edmonton at 10th(personally I think the Wings take him at 6th if the Habs pass on him).

Any top 10 pick going to the Habs would most likely have to be part of a much bigger deal.

Can you imagine the Habs actually F*** this up and pass on Zadina?? Hahaha... even expect the unexpected is just beyond that happening.

Selecting another top 10 player with similar upside is not what I'd call ***** up.

There are other great possible nabs outside of Monsieur Zadina. Boqvist, Whalstrom, Hughes, Koka, Dobson, Bouchard, Tkachuk.

Zadina has question marks, as much as they all do.

I think Kotkaniemi will get picked early. Top 6. So if we really want him, we either get a top 6 pick or use ours to take him.

I really like Zadina though, so I am torn.

It'll be a sign and trade.

And you can see the ressemblance between PK and Boqvist playstyle.... And It didn't end that well for our boy PK
Boqvist play style is more Karlsson . Hughes is more a wow d-man Subban . Anyway , Subban hockey style wasn't the reason why he get traded . It 's more linked to his flashy personality

KOTKA KOTKA KOTKA KOTKA

Lol, are you doing Gob from Arrested development..

Seriously tho, been wanting Zadina this whole time, but Kotkaniemi wouldnt be the worst thing in the world honestly..

watching Kuznetsov this playoff run.. this is the only way to get players like this.. 6"2 centers with shots dont grow on trees... WE KNOW MOST OF ALL

Kotkaniemi doesn't have that kind of upside likely. Kuznetsov's a pretty special player. His skating is unreal and he can do anything at that speed, like Barzal and McDavid. He's having a historic playoffs.

I know that's not what you're saying, though. But yeah, I agree with the general point. Centers with IQ, hands, creativity, they're worth high picks.

Boqvist play style is way more flashy than Karlsson. Looks alike ya, but he likes to deke way more and try to 1vs1 a lot with good skating and hands movement, just like subban. he's a fancy dangler, go check some of his plays!

And I won't enter on why Subban was traded out, been done and done again.

It's still funny because last year every single person was not sold on Kuzne and most were bashing him. Now he is seen as a hockey god. It all can change so quickly.

Quoting thehockeywriters.com

‘’Roman was brought into Vancouver to see time as a second line centre and add scoring depth but has proved to be much more than that early this season. Roman is slotted in between WHL veterans Brad Morrison and Ty Ronning and has excelled feeding them the puck on a team starved for scoring ‘’

Looks like he is gonna have a big year next year

Yeah but thats not what i was tr.... Lol

No, agreed, Kusnetsov skating puts him waaaaay ahead, and nobody is talking about his vision for some reason lol...that pass to wilson..., but its just as you touched upon, Skilled sized centers .....

Do i think its a bit of a reach to grab Kotkaniemi? sure
Would i be upset? no WAY

This is an interesting year because reaching for someone like this this year is not the same as if the draft was deep with centers... here youre basically "reaching" to pick the first and likely best Center, so youre basically going Need over BPA...but again...for the HABS, this is probably the best way to grab said Center, by basically being first in line lol, and not "hoping he falls to you"
