Habs take the BPA route, moving Capt. Max for high draft pick(s), then proceed to 2018/2019 season playing their prospects giving them serious NHL experience.(Instead of burying them in the AHL.)Moving our All Star veterans to teams on the cusp of SCC's(Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton come to mind) allowing S.Bah to really appreciate the 2019 Entry Draft in Vancouver June 21st & 22nd 2019, that incredible din you hear when the Habs draft Jack Hughes, is me going off!!!...:laugh::laugh: :nod::nod: :thumbu::thumbu::thumbu: Remembering the 1990 Entry Draft in the Vancouver Coliseum, called the Jaromir Jagr or Martin Brodeur draft, Habs selection 12th OV Turner Stevenson while Keith Tkachuk went 19th, Brodeur 20th.

Let's make sure every choice in this Entry Draft will be memorable for their energetic, skilled play. Not for their inability to skate or the lack of need to be the best they can !!!...

The Habs braintrust have laid the groundwork well for this Entry Draft, using the knowledge of Rick Dudley in finding the right mix of talent/passion in finding the BPA Amateurs the last 1 & 1/2 yrs. as Timmins alluded @ the Combine in his interview. Character does matter when playing in the SC Playoff's, a fact not lost in Rick Dudley's assessments. Look no further than Brendan Gallagher, Carey Price, Paul Byron, Shea Weber, PK Subban, Andrew Shaw, Arturri Lehkonen, JDLR's passionate play. These are classic examples of the heart & soul types of players that raise the level of teammates, absolutely necessary in winning SCC's.

My prediction is another "character" over skill type McCarron/De Le Rose double header followed by overcompensation by drafting a 5'3" "steal".

Remember that Tampa Bay's GM S.Yzerman wanted a LHD for J.Drouin when he balked at playing in the AHL. Habs proceeded to a losing season drafting the Big LHD Sergachev. Then made the deal the following summer, Bergevin has laid the groundwork for our Habs going forward IMHO!!!... Truly next season will be one of getting experience for our young prospects, then acquiring one of the great centers available in 2019. The Habs will have the requisite talent & youthful core necessary to compete in the salary cap era. Moving our best veterans in 2018/2019(Price) & 2019/2020(Weber) to position the Habs for Jack Hughes(LHC) & Alex Lafreniere(LW), combining these two great prospects with Galchenyuk, Drouin, Zadina, gives the Habs a great Top Six alongside good goaltending/defensive prospects already in the system. Planning long term not a 5yr. program a ten year dynasty type of program, we will see what ensues soon enough IMHO!!!...:popcorn::popcorn:

Seems like he’s cooled off a bit since his last interview where he said he’d love to play for Montreal.

He sure knows everything about the steak dinner, MB's interview and Timmins' comment about not looking for a quick fix.

I have to think Kotkaniemi now, thats superb. I'm actually hyped for the draft. Kotkaniemi or Boqvist babi

As much as I want Boqvist (still #3 on my list and first choice for us), I think the chances of Tavares coming to Montreal with a sub-$9m cap hit are higher than us picking Boqvist.

If Kotkaniemi is the pick I'll be praying that @NotProkofievian leg theory is true lol

I'm by no means studied about the the players in the draft this year and my viewings of them have been pretty slim. But Zadina doesn't strike me as someone who should be the clear favourite to go #3.
