Quick question...is Bergevin and Timmins really in Blainville instead of being in Danemark? What's more important.....watching Alexandre Alain play? Or watching Quinn Hughes and Martin Kaut against pro players?

They're watching Dobson play which many of us see as the prototypical Habs picks at 3. They won't pick Kaut at 3, no reason to scout him further.

Indeed!! Our offense also, at least if we have, for once, a decent/good offense, with exciting players, we would be a litlle bit more enjoyable to watch!

Look at Vegas, they were able to land 4 wingers that had huge years, 20-30 goal scoring wingers aren't so rare and won't cost the world. Elite centers and dmen are usually untouchable unless your team is being managed by Marc Bergevin, then it's free for all!

I'd go center or D, since there's no centers I'd go D unless I get a crack at Svechnikov. No way I'm going winger with all the top end Dmen available this year.
We need so many things which is why we need to go BPA. I also think the forwards in the later rounds are better so it could be something to consider.

They don't watch guys other than the one they will pick No.3? That says a lot......Nobody talks about Dobson at 3. Hughes though is being talked about.

Hayton should absolutely not go ahead of Dellandrea thats for sure.

6th on his team in scoring SIXTH.

I am by no means a Hayton supporter, but he's 6th in scoring on the most offensively gifted roster in the CHL. What's more impressive with Hayton was that he is 6th in scoring, but with third line minutes, at almost a PPG, on a ridiculously stacked hockey team.

Now, do I think he'll be much better than Dellandrea? No. It's just really important to contextualize the statsheet.

If the Habs pick Dobson over Hughes or Zadina, they NEED to trade down to do so. Dobson will probably go in the 6-10 range. Not saying he's much worse than Hughes, they're just different players. Hughes is showing that he could possibly become a top pairing D because he has the speed to keep up with the pro game. We already have a player like that in Victor Mete on our left side. Still, I would pick Zadina, Hughes, Boqvist and Wahlstrom at three before picking Dobson.

Dobson would make sense if they decide to actually rebuild and get a heap of prospects by trading Max and Weber. But I doubt that’s the case.

Maybe they think someone will give them a 2019 1st to move up to 3rd. They might want more ammunition in the next draft which is full of centres.

It’s dellusional to think the Habs are picking Dobson at 3 guys

I don’t think it’s delusional at all. Remember the language they used last season after drafting a bunch of defenders. They referred to them as “assets”. If they think Dobson is a potential #1 RD, they might pick him. Either he sticks with the team or they have the most valuable piece that every team is looking for, next to a #1C.

I have no problem trading down for a 5-10 pick. Just depends on what the additional piece is.

Draft in order who is left.. Kotkaniemi, Boqvist, Hughes, Whalstrom, Veleno

I much rather take Zadina and then try to use Patch to acquire a 10-15 range pick. Even if we get a 15-30 pick, we can ask for other futures as well.

Stock pile the picks in the 3-40 range. Or get more 2019 picks as well.

I don't know why you guys are ****ting on Dobson.
It's not a matter of shitting on Dobson.

The Habs have no history of reaching when they picked top 10. Heck, the last time we reached in the first round was for McCarron five years ago.

Now some are saying that not only will we not go BPA, but that the Habs will draft another right-handed D? Sorry but it's horseshit regardless of how good Dobson is. All this came because of hearsay that the Habs are scouting the Armada-Titan series. Maybe they're looking at Galipeau, maybe Henman, maybe Justin Ducharme, on top of watching their own prospect (Alain) play... You never know, it's their backyard.

For sure, they already have scouts watching the WC... Plus if Zadina's our guy there's nothing to scout because Halifax is out and he's not at the WC.

Even if they would want to watch Dobson....what are they going to find out that they didn't already? Dobson is still playing against the same players he played all year long. While Hughes is playing against quite a lot of NHL'ers and is playing WITH NHL'ers......It's not even close where they should be unless....they decided that Hughes wasn't their pick 'cause they stupidly thought that they had Mete so who needs Hughes....which would be stupid X1000....But hey, let's give those guys a break. Let's bash them on what they do and not what we think they think.....

Well what I found interesting is TT saying that they were going to draft in the currency of the NHL, and that the current currency was PMDs and centres, and so that was what they were drafting. Never said anything about BPA.

Bizarre. We went after PMDs in the draft and pylons for the NHL team.
