Along with many othersI'd take Lundestrom ahead of Hayton if he ends up being available!
I think we'd definitely be targeting a C with that pick, though I think I'd take Hayton over Veleno.I would be pretty happy with Veleno if we pick again at 10-15.
Never seen Hayton play but I find Veleno super underrated on these boards.I think we'd definitely be targeting a C with that pick, though I think I'd take Hayton over Veleno.
I like Veleno, and I think he's a good fit for what we need with his skating, 2 way game, and playmaking ability, but I just think Hayton has better all around traits to gamble on. Similar all around prospects, guys who should be middle 6 guys but have the upside for more, just think Hayton has more upside with his goal scoring ability.Never seen Hayton play but I find Veleno super underrated on these boards.

Nah even Velenos better than Hayton.
Mike Mcloed for all the hate he got around here had/has more upside than Hayton. At least Mcloed could make plays at high speed, wjat is Hayton going to do, average his way out to the net? Come on, ive seen this story before.
Hes still good to carry the puck at high speed and create space, Hayton cant even. That backhand goal by Hayton on the PP is better than anything Mike McLeod could ever do on his forehand.
McLeod skates straight as fast as he can. He's a bum.

What is Hayton there? Have you ever seen someone with a similar skillset to him have any kind of success in the NHL? Torrey Mitchell? Lol.I disagree. McLeod is Rico Fata. All legs and speed and no substance. If by carry it at high speed you mean push it in front of him and catch up to it, sure.
Come on now. Every year it seems centers like Hayton out perform their draft slot. The guy has legit top 6 skill, his hands and shot are definitely top 6 caliber. I think he's been hurt production wise by playing the checking role for SSM to allow Frost free reign as the #1.What is Hayton there? Can you stop claiming Hayton didnt play on Frosts wing for the majority of the year? Ty.Come on now. Every year it seems centers like Hayton out perform their draft slot. Torrey Mitchell had legit offensive upside too when he was younger.Hayton has legit puck skills, he's not some plug with a vague two way game. I'm willing to admit he's not elite at any particular aspect but he's not Torrey freaking Mitchell circa 2018, come on now. I've seen more than enough Soo games to at least give him that. Hayton is a perfectly reasonable 15th-ish potential pick.
What I liked most about Kotkaniemi in the U18 is that he didn’t just rack up points when his team killed France and went up against Belarus in the QF. No, his best games were in a tight game against Russia, against the Czechs in the round robin then against Sweden and US in elimination.
Hayton vs Veleno, battle of who is the better 3rd line center. How about this, don't draft either of them?
