I think it's a given he makes the WJC team. It was kinda unknown since he left the summer showcase due to illness, but he's been a massive force this year!!
Yeah, I don’t see 6-7-8 US dmen better than him right now. Plus US hockey loves size and grit and he’s definitely got both

He will be a lock. The Junior team scouts are always watching their players in the NCAA so i'm sure they have seen how dominate he has been.

been saying this since draft day

potential steal of the draft.

kids got top pair stuff. this was a coup pick.

hes raw but hes maturing at a rapid rate and when finished could be the best 2 way defender in last years draft which included a shit ton of great looking d prospects.

I never get what a 2-way defender means in this context. I feel it penalizes players that are great offensively. So if Dahlin is a 10 offensively but a 7 defensively would Miller be a better 2-way defender if he's a 6 offensively but a 9 defensively?

No because guys who are a 10 offensively from the back end are so rare.

After the last draft I was a little bit disappointed - we drafted Kravtsov instead of Wahlstrom...

Some interesting numbers:

K'Andre Miller
2018-19

Univ. of Wisconsin
NCAA 826829
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

Oliver Wahlstrom
2018-19

Boston College
NCAA 61016-4

I know... it means nothing, but now - I'm really not disappointed.

I don't want to start a whole debate again with Kravtsov vs Wahlstrom, but the Wahlstrom sample size is extremely small.

NHLe is a great way of projecting point total translation to the NHL. The sample size, as I said, is small for Wahlstrom, but let's assume he hits the same point total as Mittelstadt, this would be Wahlstrom vs Kravtsov:

Wahlstrom: 0.88 PPG with a .393 translation = 0.34 PPG
Kravtsov: 0.45 PPG with a .804 translation = 0.36 PPG

If we assume Wahlstrom matches Mittelstadt's point totals, you could argue their NHL expected production is almost similar at this stage.

Edit: And I just realized this is the K'Andre Miller thread. Sorry, guys.

I'll just add that Emmanuel Perry's NHLe's are significantly lower for CHL/NCAA (~0.17), though he has no distinction between NCAA divisions since he uses Elite Prospects data.

I have not studied which conversions seem to translate the best for top prospects, nor have I studied the respective methodology, but I would on gut feeling trust Manny over Rob Vollman when it comes to statistical modelling (no disrespect meant towards Rob).

The reason I went with Rob's numbers is because a college player is involved.

For me i trust Mannys NHLe more when it comes to Europé and maybe CHL, but it's broken for USNTDP and NCAA right now, hopefully he finds a way to fix it.

If you have FCSA and/or FCSC on your tv package, Wisconsin's games are on this weeked. Friday Night on FCSA at 8, and Saturday night on FCSC at 8. On Spectrum, in NYC they are 372 and 373.

So no points last night, why are we talking about this obvious bust.

On a serious nature, is it more important to everyone that he gets points versus being put into almost every scenario special teams, offensive and defensive situations basically any scenario the coach can dream up, which to me is a true achievement for a freshman who is in the nascent part of being a defenseman.

Edit: I haven't seen him play.

Was planning on splitting time between watching Miller and the Rangers, but I literately can’t watch the stream without adding the big ten network to my tv package (BTN+ subscription is apparently very selective) and I’m not dealing with that, I’ll follow what I can on twitter

It’s impressive to me all around, he’s trusted enough to be put into those positions and he’s excelling on and off the scoreboard
