Zibanejad is a 1st line center if you give him some 1st line talent. It's that easy. He's not a franchise player, but he's a 1st line center.

Just trade for Rakell, yeah, I don't think Anaheim would like that, even if Anaheim doesn't play like Rakell equires.

Ah, that must have been his single, 14-second shift that he took in the second. He didn't play in the first so I assumed he wouldn't.

With Gustafsson and Pettersson out with broken thumbs, it's not a bad thing to have a player dressed who can replace another forward in case of injuries.

Problem with the history of the Rangers are going after guys like Rakell. Not to say he's not a very good player which he is but instead of being envious, draft your own. He was a 30th overall pick. Rangers have two picks before then. Who is to say Noel or Kravstov or Kaut can't become a similar player?

Kravtsov certainly has that potential. Not so sure about Noel though.

Looking at wingers after the top 10 and in particular Noel.

I could see Noel but not in the first round--maybe with a second round pick. He's big and a little bit gnarly--could turn into a Wayne Simmonds type--in that he seems to have a similar build and picks up a lot of garbage from popping in goals from right around the goal crease. Dirty goals.....and we could use a guy who can put pucks in the net that way. He's not really the physical player that Simmonds is though and he certainly isn't a fighter. They both have long arms and a knack for getting their sticks free when in tight situations which is invaluable in getting those garbage goals. His skating needs a bit of work IMO and I see him as a guy who needs at least two years if not more before he's ready.

Kravtsov I would expect will be gone by 15 and Bokk and Denisenko by 20. Kaut and Lundestrom we have a chance at if we stand pat with where our later 1st's are now. I look at them all as better options than Noel at least at this point in time.

Watching Russia in this tournament its obvious just how defensive minded and specialized their Defenders have become. They play so deep all the time and are so focused on breaking up plays, wining 1 on 1 battles and moving the puck quickly up to the forwards that they basically aren't involved in the offense much at all compared to the other teams. Russia and the KHL teams must change how they play if they ever want to start to develop dynamic 2-way Ds inhouse again.
