I don't think it would be out of the question that he will be a regular in St.Louis before Dvorsky will be.
I think Dvorsky will be given an opportunity this season. Stenberg might get an opportunity out of camp next year, but they'll tell him something along the lines of, go down to Springfield again and take control, add some muscle, and get NHL ready.

Last year I thought Snuggerud should have left Minnesota and joined the Blues, but going back for his junior season turned out to be a great decision. I think Dvorsky also should spend his D+3 season developing in the AHL. I think he is often behind the play and he’ll only fall further behind at the next level. He and Stenberg could become excellent AHL players next season and join the Blues ready to make an impact.

Yeah but Stenberg will stick before Dvo.

Maybe, I expect Stenberg to need a decent amount more size before he sticks at NHL level.
I agree that he needs to add strength. I don’t think he has the frame to add size. But he can certainly continue to strengthen his core.

Strengthening a lower center of gravity is easier than developing the upper body if the frame is not there.

I think this is where Stenberg will shine. I see him as a future puck possession guy. Hard to knock off the puck.

Hail Poseidon! Great God of Ocean Storms!!

Personally prefer Athena and Artemis when it comes to Greek gods, but Percy Jackson made me love Poseidon a lot more than the Greek myths would have you believe (in Greek mythology, Poseidon really was a jerk. Honestly, Hades was one of the few gods who wasn't).

But anyway, all hail Dvorsky, son of the hockey gods!

Hades kidnapped the goddess he wanted to be his wife and tricked her so she couldn't leave the underworld. I think it's safer to say they were all jerks.

Cool. Critical remarks about Greek gods. What's your opinion of Aphrodite?

Bitch who started the Trojan War? Isn’t it obvious?

Seriously, though, Aphrodite had a jealousy and pettiness streak a mile long. She would punish people for the flimsiest of reasons. The poor woman who was forced to bear Agrius and Oreius (don’t ask who they are; not server friendly, just look it up if you’re that curious) just for deciding to worship Artemis instead was one of many.

Even Athena and Artemis had their moments of kindness. Aphrodite? Nope: if you didn’t worship her exactly the way she wanted it - and even when you did - well, the saying “Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned.” is a saying for a reason.

It would be. Perhaps I should say Hades was much less of a jerk than the others, especially his brothers. His reaction with Orpheus wanting his wife back was above and beyond what other gods did to those in their domain, wanting to take something of it - and a dead soul was something way beyond Apollo’s chariot (that the kid of Apollo took for a joyride and was smote by Zeus for being in the sky). He allowed Orpheus to take his wife’s soul back, with the condition that he not look back at her or her soul would go back. If Orpheus hadn’t been a typical Greek hero (i.e., a moron), he would’ve had a heck of a story to tell along with an alive wife.

Edith Hamilton would be proud of your knowledge.

2025 Calder Cup Playoff Primer

Springfield looks like a likely playoff team at this point. The top 6 teams in their division make the playoffs, they are in 6th, but 11 points ahead of 7th with 2 games in hand. They are only 9 points behind 1st in the division, so the top 6 are pretty close to each other, and by points %, they are 5th.

So, to repsond to my last post, I could see the Blues having Springfield ride Ellis the rest of the way and see how far he can carry them. I'd also be curious if Snuggerud would stay with the Blues or be apart of Springfield's playoff run.
