Went to the game last night. Outside of the first goal (which was one of the worst d-zone turnovers I’ve ever seen), I thought Ellis had a rough night. He made some good saves on the PK, but based off everything said on here about him, I was expecting more.

He didn’t look NHL ready to me, but it was probably just an off night.

You’re right. It wasn’t his best effort, but the team was in total disarray at the beginning. I thought it was going to be a 10-0 game.

I know there's been some discussion around Dvorsky and his NHL readiness, but I do think it's important to note from a production standpoint, he's only had 2 instances of going pointless, and it was 2 3 game droughts.

Yeah I kinda chalked it up to the fact that I had been seeing that the flu was going around the team, and it was their third game in four nights.

Bit of a bummer as I had been excited to see all the prospects play in person.

They did play half a game and it should’ve been tied at the end. BS call on Peterson goal.

Yeah I still do not understand how that goal didn’t count.

Was also bummed they had their best period on the opposite end of where I was sitting. I had seats 5 rows from the glass in the corner where they shot twice, so I couldn’t see nearly as well on that end of the ice lol.

How is Buchinger looking in his first AHL season? I don't get to watch the Thunderbirds nearly as often as I would like.
He is learning to play defense. In juniors, it seems like you have all the time in the world. Big passes across the middle. Just don’t happen in pro hockey. He has adjusted his game. He is slick moving the puck to his teammates and his D partner. I look for a much better offensive season next year as he gets quicker and stronger. If he don’t, then he probably will top out in the AHL. The mind is there. He just has to put in the work.

I agree, we absolutely need to give Alexandrov a look and see if he can answer any of our questions at center. Maybe he will rebound like his buddy Tucker has.

I’m not sure how you keep Alexandrov down. Three more points tonight. 2 goals and an assist. Kaski is 1 for 1 too. Big Z is the story being outshot 28-14 so far. New kid enamored himself with a big hit and answering the bell.

Alexandrov deserves a shot, although I do hope the Blues will play him on wing as that's where he excels at at Springfield, I don't think he's even played a single game at C the entire season. He might not be an NHL center, but lets give him a shot to see if he can stick as a winger. We're not going to make the playoffs anyway so why not see what he's got instead of a guy like Joseph.

If I’m bringing anyone up, then it would be him. Hartford was missing 4 regulars and their other sniper left injured. We should’ve destroyed them. I’m not sure what is up with Dvo, but he just couldn’t get the puck or if he had it he couldn’t get it to Bolduc. A bit concerning at the AHL level if you are planning on him being an NHL center. Dylan Roobroeck isn’t that good of a shutdown center

I have major reservations about Dvorsky being able to put it all together in the NHL. His skating hasn't noticeably progressed from what I can tell. I'll put Snuggy in that category as well. Both of our top offensive prospects are below average skaters. I don't see either of them coming close to their ceilings unless other facets of their game are close to elite.

Snuggy's skating has really improved. I don't think it will be a hindrance in the least.
