This game is giving me such deja vu to everything that was wrong with the Rangers under AV.

As a Jets/Mets/Rangers fan, I feel like the biggest loser in all of sports. Washington got a championship before me. Cleveland got a championship before me. The Eagles got a championship before me. The Cubs got a championship before me.

I'm the last man standing.
 
Bowles should be fired yesterday. Absplute garbage. Cant even disguise coverage to trick a f***ing rookie making his first start as an emergency replacement. On the contrary, he gives the kid wide open Wr's half the game. Meanwhile the jets wr's have gorilla glue holding them together with their respective cb.

Kudos to baker who also made 3 fantastic throws too. Got utterly, completely oatcoached as per usual in every single facet of football yet AGAIN with no adjustments in the second half.

Where the f*** is the tight end to exploit the middle of the field. Oh, that's right WE f***ING GOT RID OF HIM. 4th rd pick callaway busts our head open and our 3rd round wr gets cut while our 4th rounderis nothing more than a shirt and shorts spring superstar.

The two TE draftees are outplayed by an undrafted rookie and our two WR draftees are outplayed by a undrafted FA who spends half his time fighting cops and the othet half fighting to hold the ball

All summer i gotta hear about bates and his great qb coaching abilities. Oooh hes STUNNED by darnold. Kid is taking to this like a duck to water. He's a vet out there. WHO'S the vet, f***ing ryan leaf!? Every year i gotta hear horse shit from the jets pr hype machine. Geno is stepping up as a leader, gets f***ing knocked unconcious by his teammate. Big kat is a man out there, gets played in an ill fitting system, played out of position and is neutralized by his own coach. Richardson looks revitalized, gets asked to drop back in coverage half the time, can't get a sack. Every year 8000 cbs and wrs are making plays all over the field in training camp and they cant see a down as a member of a punt coverage unit once the season starts. Now bates and darnold, bates and darnold.

Well cleveland's qb coach must be a christ figure bc he clearly coached baker to be 3x as good as sam. Guy's nailing back shoulder throws, galvanizes his teammates, reading coverage, exploiting holes in the zone, running through progressions. Ken f***ing zampese!? f*** the jets.

Look at amderson not even lifting a FINGER to compete for that ball. Maybe if it was a cop he'd raise his fist.

It seems Cleveland finally got the QB right.
Darnold will be a mobile version of prime Eli Manning, which is a good thing for the Jets.
 
Only the Jets would allow themselves to be beaten by Cleveland

I’m less concerned by the loss and more concerned with how Darnold looked. He was all over the place. Play calling factors in, Rush, etc. but if you told me that was Sanchez out there I would have believed it. Bad flashbacks.

The wr's were shockingly bad. Zero separation. I thought the matrix was glitching bc i saw parts of cleveland defenders sticking through ny jet wr's chests. Guys not finishing routes, guys dropping catches, guys fumbling, guys watching the ball. No one comes back to it, no one high points it, no fight, no one goes across the middle.

Simultaneously the only pocket our fatass porous oline is familiar with is a f***ing triple cheese hot pocket. We HAD A BIG reliable, fiery guy in Jenkins and cut him so mac could try to give his failed late round picks a job they can't earn.

I'm beyond done with this organization top to bottom.

I was on record, i thought the teddy trade was f***ing idiotic. This kid was not ready.

We f***ed off with a perfect one year stopgap player so we can get another crack st Ardarius stewart. He was a f***ing leader, he was dead on balls accurate, the guys loved him, he was savvy in the pocket, could read the shit out of defenses. Darnold would have learned a f***ing TON watching him go about his business as a starter.

This whole f***ing management let this kid down and f***ed this team bc of ego, desperation and f***ing idiotic incompetence

Calm down, Darnold is a rookie and Cleveland's defense is great. It's not like the Jets are in a win now mode, the kid will learn.

Second, if you're going to say something like that, then you should at least follow up with a comment that showed me you get what you're responding to.

4th Sam is a rookie? What? Do you think I've given up on darnold? I didnt even criticize Sams' game.

I said he isnt ready, that's it. Surprise surprise, a rookie 21 year old isnt ready and could have used some more time studying and learning from a vet? What a shocking, irrational hot take? I didnt focus on him bc he IS just a rookie and I'm confident he'll come around. I clearly harped on how this organization is failing to support him and get him ready. I didnt foster even one iota of blame on him. I destroyed the coaching, oline, te, gm and wr's. But you tell me darnold is a rookie as if im slamming darnold.

Finally, I'm usually nowhere to be seen for games. Today i was bored, its thursday night and i decided to f*** around having a blast ranting. I havent had fun with a good rant in ages. I was laughing my ass off at some of the silly shit i was saying.

I can relate to this feeling. lol

It's just that I think that he will evolve better playing than sitting a year, he is not that raw to have to sit a year behind Bridgewater or McCown. If he flames out, he wasn't gonna be the franchise QB that the Jets have been looking for since Namath.

Not everyone can be Carson Wentz good in the beginning of their career.

I would blame the coach, he turnstiled AV style in the second half.
 
Darnold is young. Wasn't it said he is the youngest starting QB in the modern era? And, he only played a season and a half in college. He's incredibly green. He has all the tools and the toolbox. If he puts it together he'll be great. If not, Mark Sanchez from his third season on.

The loss was expected. I mean, I figured in general it would happen. When Mayfield came in, you definitely knew it. If it's a step towards Bowles and Mac leaving, great.

Mac is a mixed bag for me but the biggest thing for me with him is outside of maye i dont think he's successfully drafted one single player besides mega obvious picks who bafflingly fell to us.

Not getting mack is an incomprehensible failure in my eyes.
He got bent over like a desperate rookie by the colts imo
He's drafted or signed 1 million guys with severe character flaws and failed to help them avoid trouble. I dont know that he even bothers trying to help them.

Hackenberg was the butt fumble of draft picks. He blew off an entire scout team telling him he was wrong and had an entire league laugh at him for reaching like a naive, overeager rookie.

He got played by suh, again looking like a laughing stock and like a naive, desperate rookie.

He's failed to use cap space in anything resembling an effective manner...hes failed to use cap space at all actually.

If he doesnt draft some goddamn rookies next year and hire a competent coaching staff then he's done with me. Too tired and annoyed now to list his positives

As for Bowles? He cant be fired soon enough.

I was okay with not getting Mack. If we were closer to contention (and I didn't think Mack gets us there) I would have gone all-in. I also liked, and still do like, the trade with the Colts. I've made the case before that had they waited until the Colts were on the clock, the price might have been higher. I know that's debatable but it's just my opinion, so I'm okay with it.

He has made some nice picks, but as you said, way too many bad picks. The bad character guys. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like we'd bring in those guys under Rex and older regimes and we could work with them. Here they continue to do dumb shit. The Hack pick was terrible, of course. Some others as well. He was supposed to be a talent evaluator guy and he has been bad there.

The offensive line has been terribly neglected and it kills us every game. The defensive line which once was simply amazing is now only mediocre. I understand some guy had to go but he moved the wrong guys at the wrong times and just misplayed it all. You need strength in the trenches and we have nothing there. No legit edge rusher (I know I know, Mack) for years. Just too many areas that have been neglected for too long.

Bowles I've gone back and forth on, but, he's been here long enough that I've seen enough.
 
The Jets need a hell of an off-season next year.

First and most importantly, we need to hit on whatever head coach (and accordingly, the staff he brings in) we hire. It's time for the Jets to have an offensive-minded HC. Kotite was our last one. f***ing Kotite.

Next, we desperately need an elite rusher. Given the fact that we look like a 4-12/5-11 team this year, it will probably be our first round pick. The OL talent just isn't there this year (as of now), and this draft is loaded with edge rushers. We need to give Big Cat some help. He isn't doing anything out there because he can be triple teamed every play.

We also need to invest so much in the OL and WR positions. Particularly OL. Sam needs to be comfortable throwing the ball. OL is a problem league wide, so I'm not too optimistic there. Our WRs (minus Enunwa) were getting zero separation out there. Could use a few there too.

We might also need some CBs. Hopefully, Nickerson pans out as a good slot replacement for Enunwa. But we'll still need more CBs. Claiborne is done after this year. I hated the Trumaine signing the moment it happened. He had already been declining. We need to cut him the first time we have a financial out. I believe after year 3.

We have a ton of cap space next year. Hopefully, some difference makers make it to free agency.

I feel like you can easily sign a wr to compliment enunwa but that elite pass rusher? You're LUCKY if you get one using 4 top 5 picks in the draft. We had one for the cost of 2 first rounders and with a 2nd rounder returned to us.

Of course anyone is allowed to disagree but i cannot feel more strongly that this was an all time f*** up by mac to not get mack. Dude should be an all world player for 3-5 years and a great player another year or two after that. I cant imagine anyone saying we won't have a team ready by then.

You get mack, you keep teddy for at LEAST 4 games and you watch the raiders settle for 2 picks in the 18 range, laughing maniacally all the way to championship contention within 2 seasons.

Instead we put darnold in a situation he isnt ready for, took away the teams ability to succeed this year instead of building a winning mentality, will need to get LUCKY to hit on a player half as good as Mack and will suffer through another miserable season

I’m not going to bash the jets for not trading 2 first rounders for Mack.

They’re prob a top 5 pick year regardless. They weren’t one guy away. Mack doesn’t fix a lot of other issues and if it takes 2-3 years to grow with Darnold, not having first rounders in that time would be brutal.

Hope this doesnt sound rude but the whole premise of your counterpoint is wrong tho.

Teams carry 3 qbs all the time. Its fairly standard. Also your point is they should trade teddy and play darnold otherwise they'd have been stuck playing either teddy or darnold. Lol wut.

Not sure what you're talking about w the better draft pick comment.

Playing darnold and trading teddy gets u the better pick bc you're going to suck more.
