Like I said in that main board thread, the major fallacy in the line of thinking is that "regular season points champion" = "best overall team."

Quite a few of us have called TBL soft for years and gotten ripped for it. They are maybe by far the most skilled all around team of the cap era, but they turn into mush when faced with a team that can skate with them and check. Like it or not, checking is part of hockey and it doesn't make the game less skillful, CBJ isn't out there waterskiing like the 90s, they're pummeling TBL.
