Again, this guy is a complete moron and would have been shredded back when enforcers roamed the ice.

Extra infuriating for the Vegas bandwagon to all wear his jersey while thinking he's like the toughest guy to ever play.

Guy couldn't even put away noted pugilist Dwight King but has made a living the last few years getting to fight dudes that are 210-215 pounds. Oh...I get to fight Rich Clune and Cody MacLeod again. Look out world!

His comments about not fighting noted giant Michael Haley are pathetic. He's supposed to be the champ, acts like it but then says that he doesn't have to fight because that's not how the game is played anymore and he'll only fight on his terms. This completely ignores the code and the fact that established guys gave him his shot when he was breaking in to the league but now he gets to support his spot picking by saying "that's not how it is". Well, how convenient that you decide that's not how it is when it is time for him to pay it forward.

Heard from a very reliable source that MacD really wanted a chance to go with him this past pre-season. Reaves waded in to a scrum and MacD came over and laid down the challenge. But like, you know, THAT'S NOT HOW IT IS ANYMORE!

If you aren't going to do what the champ is supposed to do, just shut your f***ing mouth and quit acting like a complete clown every chance you get.

You think Reaves is a spot picker ?

He is what he is. I am not a fan of him or players of his ilk, but he is capable of moving a bit and atleast somewhat keeping up with the current speed of the game. But the days of talentless goons skating around and honoring an unwritten code are just over, gone for good, never coming back.

I think in the end, Tampa’s defense will be seen as overrated. McDonogh, Girardi and Coburn / Stralman are all too old to all be playing on the same roster.

Not apropos of anything, really, but I just think it's kinda' funny how half of Tampa Bay's current defense was considered "strong" (or at least, a bit troublesome) a little under five years ago. Ah, memories...

I don't think its weak and it actually could be more than 5 games depending how the series goes.

How could it be more than 5 games? Tonight is game 3 so if the series goes 7, he misses 5 in total.

He’s a repeat offender and did something similar last playoff as well. He isn’t getting the message. I would of given him 8-10 games.

This will be his 5th career suspension in his 9th year in the league.

Because im bad at math!, i get your point of view though. I dont think your wrong but i do think being suspended for the remainder of a series that is only 2 games in is not a light suspension either.

I did not know this is his 5th suspension though, so I get that it could have been more.

Kadri suspended for remainder of 1st round.

Meh, That’s pretty weak. Should of got a minimum of 5 games. Repeat offender.

Ridiculous.

The league can't even decide how long they want to punish him for. From 3-5 games.

. I was never that good at math myself.

IF they series only goes another 3 games, I just think he gets off too easily. They should of defined the amount of games.

I haven't been watching any of these Cup matches. What's the deal with the Lightning? Is it D? Is it goaltending? I'm wondering if, at the draft, maybe we flip Quick to the Lightning for picks. Quick will get to finish his career with a contender, Tampa Bay gets a playoff-proven goalie, and we get assets for the future. Any takers?

Vasilevskiy is their guy for the forseeable future.

Maybe, maybe not. Next year is the last yr of his deal , and last summer he said he want's 8-10M per. If they don't get past the 1st round, I'm not sure I'm giving him an LTC for 80 t0 100M

THey have a few others to get inked next summer, including Point, Sergachev and Cirelli all coming of ELC's and eventually Kucherov.

But maybe they will

Good point. I felt like they committed to him when they moved Bishop, but you're right, if they lose this year, there will likely be some hard decisions that will have to be made over there.

Yeah. He has John Scott and MacGrattan on his card but he generally doesn't have a long list of imposing dudes in his fight history, plus he loves to throw punches at guys once they have fallen to the ice.

Part of it is a function of the era he now finds himself in, but then you have him turning down a legit contender in MacD and even turning down Michael Haley. He's thrilled to fight only on his terms and most teams don't carry anyone in his weight class that is actually a fighter.

I'd have no problem if he just went out, crushed people, and fought the same way he does now: even if the latter means he picks his spots. But he runs his mouth so damn much that its embarrassing.

Tie Domi put on a circus act as well but he went out there and fought 25 times a year against the biggest and baddest. This guy gets in four fights a year and acts like he is the toughest guy in hockey when, before enforcers went away, he was just looked at as a decent fighter.

Ovechkin just knocked out Svechnikov

I get trying to take Ovie off the ice, but the kid picked a fight with a much stronger man. I didn't know it was a KO while I watched the highlight but immediately thought "this kid is going to get dropped" once I saw the way he was throwing punches.

I agree. He fights dirty and almost no team can match his weight class. I never considered him a spot picker though because I imagine it's hard to find someone his size who'd throw.
