I'm no real fan of Kane but it takes some real cojones to drop em with Reaves and do more than just hold on for dear life.

It's so weird that Erik Karlsson has just been the unluckiest player in the league every year of his career but one.

He's just Jack Johnson with generational offense at this point.

Oh yeah, I remember having that argument year after year re: EK on the main board. There comes a point in time when you just have to admit that when he's on the ice, the opposition is going to score. And it's not just a coincidence or bad luck when it happens consistently throughout his career. Tilting the ice in your favor in shots doesn't mean a whole lot when the fewer shots you're allowing are in the back of your net at a higher frequency.

If SJS flame out in the first round, fingers crossed, I’ll be overjoyed if all their UFAs walk. They could lose any of the following regulars.

Pavelski
Thornton
Nyquist
Donskoi
EK65

Worse is they are stuck with Martin Jones for 6 years at $5.75m cap hit, $6m in actual salary for two more seasons. Watching the sharks and ducks suffer is the only bright spot as a Kings fan right now.

Timo Meier & Kevin Labanc are due healthy raises as well.

This was the series where Chris Kontos exploded for 8 goals in the first round, then disappeared into obscurity. Until he reemerged again three years later with the expansion Tampa Bay Lightning.

Amazing that Mike Bossy had 85 career goals in a career that was cut short. He was truly one of the best players of his era. Loved watching him when I was kid, which was rare as TV coverage was different back then so exposure to other teams was limited.

The Mike Bossy and his red Titan Turbo hockey stick.

I haven't been watching any of these Cup matches. What's the deal with the Lightning? Is it D? Is it goaltending? I'm wondering if, at the draft, maybe we flip Quick to the Lightning for picks. Quick will get to finish his career with a contender, Tampa Bay gets a playoff-proven goalie, and we get assets for the future. Any takers?

My take is that the BJs have enough forward depth to be able to effectively check the TBL's best players in Stamkos, Point and Kucherov in games 1 and 2. I'm expecting their coach to start and stack his lines and play the life out of those three plus Hedman and Sergachev in what might be their last game.

I don't think its a goal tending issue. The defense hasn't been very good and the forwards need a line rush type of game to score and CBJ isn't a chance trading type of team.

So if TB loses, are they going to blame injuries/suspensions for them losing? Or will it be due to losing legendary Steve Yzerman running the show.

Once Columbus got control of Tampa's top line in the 2nd period of game 1, it's been pretty sad for Tampa. Columbus has the depth to just check the Bolts into submission. They've been winning big since that opening beating they took. Cooper has to figure out how to free his top guys and let them do their work.

To be fair, Nosek really sold it.

Vegas players all know how to sell anything near the head come playoff time.
Maybe some have forgotten but theyre a dirty team that does a lot of chicken shit stuff and get calls from the refs.. They cheap shoted the Kings last playoffs and now people are starting to see it... let them elbow each other into early retirement
