2018-2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs

I live for the first round of the playoffs, even when the Kings aren't involved. So much good hockey on at once, and so many storylines developing at once.

My favorite one though is that rat hockey is not prevailing. Winnipeg down 2-0. Nashville down 2-0. I guess Calgary is up for now but meh. And unfortunately someone has to win VGK-SJS. 8 PPs for SJ and the whole city is still in tears, lol. I think we went stretches of 5 games without seeing 8 pps total, never mind a playoff game...on top of the 5pps they had in the first game...

I can see your point here, maybe they weren't as confident last season against the Caps. Columbus certainly looks like a confident bunch going up against Tampa Bay. I think the key for Columbus will continue to be playing with structure and being opportunistic. Columbus has some talented players, but Tampa has more.

Wow, that was a terrible call giving Ferland a 5-minute major and a game for that hit.

Tampa can come back and do the same thing as Washington, but yeah the BJs look a lot more confident out there this go around and they got swagger after game 2. Game 1 coulda been called a miracle of sorts, but they destroyed the Bolts in game 2.
 
Canes got screwed , Ferland got a 5 min major and tossed from the game on a hit that wasn't a head shot. Awful, just awful. So far, Canes killed off almost 4 minutes .
Brindy almost blew a gasket on the bench, been awhile since I've seen a coach so fired up. He really ripped the refs.
They have to get a better system, you can't have bad calls like this ina playoff game.

I guess you are foreshadowing seeing as Dallas is currently up 1-0 in the series.

Game 2 is tonight.
 
Anyone seen any of the St. Louis / Winnipeg series? I haven't been able to catch any of those games yet, but am surprised St. Louis is up 2-0.

Pretty even thus far but, Binnington has outdeuled Hellebuyck after the first 2 games.

I figured the Blues had a good shot at a split in the first 2 games prior to the series starting. However, being up 2-0 I would not have foreseen.

Winnipeg isn't going anywhere if Hellebuyk doesn't get it together quick. One minute he'll make a solid save, than the next he'll let in a shot he should've had. His play has been deflating.
