Anyone but Toronto, Colorado and San Jose.
I still despise the Avs from the early 2000's and I do remember very well their fans attitude at the old fanhome forums. In my book they aren't any better than Guppies fans.

watching these playoffs, all of teams need to look at themselves in the mirror...Nashville, Winnipeg, TB, calgary

Strange and interesting playoff season. Three division winners out in the first round, and one playing in a Game 7. All of the wild card teams still alive with three of them moving on to the 2nd round for sure.

Of all the teams moving on to the second round, Dallas surprises me the most. Maybe their owner was right to call out the lazy effort being given by Benn and Seguin during the regular season. The Zuccarello deal gave them a spark as well.

Hopefully, this does not reinforce the "just make the playoffs and anything can happen" mentality that infected the thinking of Kings top management for so long prior to Dean Lombardi's arrival. Granted during the Kings run from 2012 - 2014 the Kings never won the division, but there is a difference between just squeaking into the playoffs, and being built for the playoffs.

Rooting for Mr. Game 7 to create some magic in our nation's capitol tomorrow night.

I wouldn't mind seeing the regular season reduced to 72 games from 82 games. It's obvious too many players are mailing it in for too many games during the regular season. The NHL owners and players are stealing from the fans when the players aren't in the mood to put in a decent effort every game.

Why not reduce it to 50 and eliminate the pointless cross-conference games?

That may be too drastic, but I think the number of regular season games should be reduced. With the advent of cable, satellite, and streaming video, it's not like we never get to see players from the Eastern Conference play. Maybe they should do it like the NFL and play the teams from just one division of the opposite conference. That way every other year you can see your favorite team from the opposite conference in person.

I think the NHL should always be looking for ways to give the fans a higher-quality experience. Dropping 10 games off the schedule might improve the quality of the product.

But what games do you reduce? And what makes you think the quality would approve? Teams that are already eliminated/locked in will still coast.

Well, you can eliminate one of the games against each division opponent right off the bat. It doesn't matter, it's never going to happen anyway.

Not in the past five years.

2015: No playoffs
2016: Eliminated 4-1 in Round 1
2017: No playoffs
2018: Eliminated 4-0 in Round 1
2019: No playoffs
Unfortunately in Round 1, LA faced the eventual Stanley Cup finalist in both 2016 & 2018. 2015 was also a fluke year to miss.

This team is now in rebuilding mode but with some luck you had won a playoff series here and there.

Now we constantly need to read this ****.

I think this proves making playoffs is goal 1 and then seeing how things go from there. In a league where over 50% of teams get in this should always be the goal. You can make the playoffs and build your team at the same time.

As for the reduced schedule...disagree. I still don't like the reduction from 84 to 82 but that's just me being petty.

The rebuild just started. Had management realized this team needed to restock instead of living in the past, you wouldn’t have to read this shit.

Sorry for mentioning that fact. I’m sure nobody takes pride in that result, especially when having among the oldest and most expensive rosters in the league.

It's not ****. Winning one playoff game over the course of five seasons tells you all you need to know about the remaining core of players. Definitely a long term trend and not a fluke.

Players will still take games off if you reduced the schedule. As already stated though, it is a moot point since owners aren't in the business of giving up revenue.

As for cross-conference games, STH'ers want them so we can hopefully see star players from the other conference in person. They already limited these in the 00's and it sucked. So Jagr (or whoever) is hurt when he comes through town? Well, his team doesn't come here next year so hopefully you get to see him in two years etc.

Only if you cant put things into perspective.

Yep. Look, we get it. The Kings are in a downward turn cycle. It's time to rebuild. You may as well list every team that has won 2 playoff games over the last 5 seasons as well. It's an interesting (and painful) footnote, but we're all well aware. If you want to talk about perspective lost, how about 41 - FORTY ONE!! - playoff game victories from 2012 to 2014.

Or spin bullshit. Those results wouldn’t be so bothersome had the team been in a transition period, but management was still trying to push what they perceived to be a winning team, and look where they’re at now.

Have you even been watching any of these playoff games? I haven’t seen the Kings play at such an intense level in years. Of course that increases our desire to see a competitive Kings team competing in the playoffs.
