I strongly disagree. Both of these guys put in a tremendous amount of work and have a significant wealth of knowledge about the ins and outs of hockey. There isn't a single poster on these boards I would trust more than the two of those guys when it comes to their opinion on players, either minor or pro. That's literally their job.

ok Jeff.

50% of that being true ain't bad. Jeffler was a decent poster who's passion for this team has taken him along way and has learned a lot along that path.

Wheeler is meh. House league level player that did a good job leveraging a journalism degree and online platforms. A little uppity for my taste.

It's not the hockey knowledge that makes either impressive, it's their drive and the way they've been able to monetize an interest.

What? This?

"One season is not enough. If he does it again next season, sure."

So you agree he is strong defensively, you just won't admit it until later?

Or this:

"If you guys don't like the Marner example, how about Debrincat?"

I said Marner is strong defensively. I have no idea why you'r asking me about Debrincat.
Marner is strong defensively and is getting better before our eyes. I mean I did laugh at the Selke talk "one day" on the radio, but on the other hand the fact it was even mentioned a testament to how impressive Marner has been. To argue otherwise, clearly a poster must have an old grudge, objectively it isn't a debate. Can't wait until he puts on a few more mature pounds.

I disagree often with Jeffler and Wheeler but both appear to take the time to actually watch this team. I can appreciate that after I see hacks like Craig Button spout strong opinions on our prospects while having watched a handful of games at best. Just go watch his angry rant about Kapanen with Colby Armstrong piling on, there is nothing of substance to their criticism. I also remember Button's 'Nylander would be traded because the Leafs signed Adam Brooks'. @zeke is also correct about Jeffler making the extra effort to count stats. Both these guys are miles better than what I am used to seeing. Appreciate their work, not always the analysis lol.

Right, despite Keefe not playing him much in the defensive zone, and people who cover the marlies (not jeffler or wheeler) saying he's not as good as the stats say.
Wheeler I know for sure is not someone who should be making projections on someones potential in hockey. So forget that please. I like Wheeler on the radio and his TFC insight as he was a good University player but do not bring him up in player projections for potential NHL ers please.

I mean TSNs Gareth Wheeler if that's who was being talked about

Any news on Korshkov??

He can’t sign until Apr 30 when his contract expires.

Well, if Locomotiv agreed to terminate early, he could, and that was originally to be believed at first, but doesn’t appear it’s the case anymore

So he has to sign on or after April 31? Does that mean he won't sign...

When was the last time there was the 31st of April. :P

That's awesome. Sure he dominated teenagers but so did everybody else who scored 60 in the OHL the past 20 years (Kane,Tavares,Locke being the only ones to do it in their age 18 season or younger, everybody else was 19 or 20).

Marlies have a ridiculously sized roster right now, not sure if any of these young guys get a game in.

I'm liking this signing. Undrafted player, who has really improved statistically near the end of his OHL career, to be the #2 points guy and top goal scorer in the league this year, with 61 goals. Sure, he's a 21 year old, 6'6", 225 man, playing against much younger players, but it does show that he has some offensive upside. Let's hope that he continues to grow, perhaps into becoming a useful 3rd or 4th line NHL player one day. Everyone knows, the Leafs sure could use some size. Skating is a bit of an issue, and maybe not great defensively, but that can be worked on.

Hutchison allows 3 goals in the 1st, and gets pulled.
The Sparks critics may want to be careful of making him the backup.
They are both terrible.
