I want to see Bracco called up to finish the year and rest Marner (and JT, and Rielly, and maybe even Matthews)

Let Kadri play some big minutes against big competition to maybe, hopefully, give him a jump start before the playoffs

Kadri - Bracco could work!

Its shocking that they haven't even given him a single game as a reward. Nylander, Johnsson, Kapanen, & Dermott were all given games before deciding whether they stayed on with the big club or returned to the marlies.

Kadri is out, nursing some type of injury.

pretty crazy for a coupla teenagers.

Noting that in his game tracking for today, Liljegren and Sandin didn't have many Dzone starts. Two between them..

I'm actually shocked at how good Marchment looked in today's game. Had 2 partial breakaways for himself, sprung Brooks with a nice deft pass, and had a massive open ice hit in the 1st period. Was involved in a few scrums as per usual, but the key takeaway was his quickness, both in terms of skating and decision making.

He looks like he's ready for a cup of coffee with the Leafs.

We need Marchment for the playoffs but Babcock isn't smart enough for that, He will have Connor Brown a natural 145lber be the guy.

Love to see the way Marchy is developing. I think he
Makes the leafs fourth line next year.
Adds some much needed size and physicality.

He just came back from a shoulder injury and there's other guys ahead of him at this point.

He should compete for a spot next year though depending on what happens with Marleau/Brown etc.

SDA to the Growlers.
No problem with it as long as they actually play him a bit.

When I went to see Orlando live last year I was baffled at how little Dzierkals played despite easily being the best player out there. Could see why he left.

SDA won't be the best player on the Growlers but some decent ice time would be good.

I'd like to see him traded to a better offensive team in the O next year, Kitchener has two OA spots open with Hugg and Lipanov leaving and I wouldn't mind him here.

Interesting -- this isn't all that common, right? I mean, a skater playing for the ECHL team while on their ELC? Liljegren went down but that was different as a conditioning stint.
Not too often, but I think it has more to do with the fact that the ECHL has a salary cap. At the end of the year like this when a guy is done his junior season I'm not sure how it impacts that.

Meritocracy wise, Marchment over Bracco is insanity.
It depends on what role we are asking them to play. Bracco is also the piece with a lot higher upside so we have to be a lot more careful how we handle his development going forward. We could probably throw Marchment out there on the 4th line with little consequence but I think with Bracco there has to be a plan on how to utilize his abilities to put him in the best situation to succeed. That's not going to be easy given the skillset of players we already have on the roster. Somebody is going to have to be dealt, and I am of the mind that you don't move Bracco unless you see what you are getting out of him at the NHL level. There are always going to be questions if his skillset will translate to the pros. Consequently I don't believe we are going to get good value for him unless we can dispel those notions.

In his post game interview yesterday, Keefe called out the team.

“The way we played today, we look like a team that doesn’t want anything to do with the playoffs.”

Well the way it works is that if a guy is under contract to an AHL (or NHL) team, the ECHL only has to pay a certain amount of it, and that is the amount that goes against the cap.

I think it's 100% more to do with playing time. SDA won't get much here besides the odd pity game, since we have high end offensive forwards. He'd get legit minutes on the Growlers, even with their good team.

I'm kind of sad that we had to call up McAdam when we had Bouthillier though. I would not mind seeing him get into a game with Hutchinson called up.

F - Justin Brazeau
RD - Joseph Duszak

Nice start to the summer.
Totally satisfied with those two. One more of Priskie/Yelesin would really top it off, but not sure how Keefe could squeeze in another defensemen for 2020. Aside from Yelesin, I don't see any of the KHLers coming close to Ozhiganov or Zaitsev. Here is what Keefe will have to work with next season (in addition to the veterans):

Rasanen, Hollowell, Liljegren, Sandin, Duszak, Kral, Borgman, and potentially Lindgren.

I'd like to see Dubas make some headway with Aaltonen for 2020/2021. Gauthier has another year before his current deal expires, and having Aaltonen in the wings would be a nice back-up option. Doubt he has any interest in the AHL again so there would have to be a verbal agreement that his position with the Leafs is assured, but he's significantly better than the Lindholm's of the world so it could be a worthwhile move.

Are you sure Sandin is playing? I see Liljegren and Rasanen out of the "young" guys but I'm not seeing Sandin

Or am I losing my mind?
