That would actually be a good thing. The Kings haven't had a 3rd line C as good as Stoll was in quite a while.
And Rymsha will be AHL bound for the upcoming season.
If it's Shore as it could have been, as opposed to once Sutter got done with him, that's fine as well.
Kings of the Roundtable 2018 – Episode 1, Blake and Stevens
They're back, some characters are made for radio perhaps, but they're back .
A decent review.
Dennis Bernstein has a stick up his ass for not being hired by The Athletic, probably because they want to stick with reporters who are actually reputable and not tabloid bloggers who write for rumor mongering sites like hockeybuzz or the fourth period.
IF Lucic were to come back, I think it would be a deadline deal. He would have to have another terrible season and everyone would want out. He would have edm over a barrel and could control where he wanted to go (NMC) and he would probably want LA/quacks. A buyout wouldn't be great cap-wise for for edmonton, but max retention would be best.
Adding him to the 3rd/4th line in place of clifford at $3 mil would be a good depth move, not great long term cap wise but could be manageable for someone that could play up and down the lineup. Insurance in case someone gets hurt. Everyone wanting added toughness would get it and wouldn't have to sacrifice a roster spot for someone else who might not be able to chip in in other ways aka McDermid.
Don't think it would be the end of the world, could pay off well
Would it be too much to ask for a future-Deadmarsh? I appreciate Stoll and all but if Rymsha could morph into a Deader-clone......
Eric Belanger =Jack JohnsonWith Rymsha, think Eric Belanger.
Lucic at 4.5 for Phaneuf. Cap problem solved. The forward lines are as deep as anyone’s if you add a Lucic.
Lucic-Kopitar-Toffoli
Kovalchuk-Carter-Brown
Pearson-Kempe-Vilardi
Iafallo-Amadio-Lewis
Clifford/Thompson
Forbort-Doughty
Muzzin-LaDue
Fantenberg-Martinez
MacDermid or Brickley
That’s two scary big top lines. Lucic would do well with two players that complement his style. That second line is 650+ pounds of hockey man meat with skill and speed. The third line can be one of the best if Kempe can win a draw and Vilardi stays healthy. You can throw the fourth line out there at any time in the game.
That’s what a contender looks like.
