Vilardi can only play in the OHL or NHL. There's nothing left for him to learn from at the OHL level.Vilardi is 18 and will be 19 come opening night.
He's going to be on the Kings roster.

Iaffalo-Kempe-Vilardi on the 3rd line is 3 very inexperienced players. I do like having Vilardi's size mixed with Kempe and Iaffalo's speed and energy.
f***in aI'm fine with dressing MacDermid as the back up goalie. I just want him dressed and ready to be deployed.
Park his azz on Lundqvist's head and Puetrangelo's bad leg.Call me crazy, but I would like the Kings to explore having MacDermid skate as a left winger every once in a while. He’s absolutely intimidating with his size. Park him in front of the opposing goalie. Someone would need to teach him how to tip shots.
Put a little thought in the back of the head in guys like Carrier or Reaves.

I think Vilardi could benefit playing with Carter and Iafallo can play LW on that line. It's worth noting that Iafallo is 23, turns 24 in December.
Since they're dead set with Kempe at center, Pearson and Toffoli can play with him. They exhibited some chemistry as a trio and you have a combination of speed with Kempe, a forward capable of driving to the net and also able to use some outside speed in Pearson, and a sniper in Toffoli.
Thus leaving a combo of Lewis, Clifford, Thompson, Amadio and Brodzinski to compete for fourth line duty. I would like to see the lines spread out to be much deeper than what we saw last season, and being four lines deep and cutting down on the over-reliance of the Kopitar line could stand to benefit the team in April and beyond.
Tavares' decision is holding everything up
Is that the same guy who reported Vilardi+ for Pacioretty?
I like this setup. Roll 3 scoring lines.Kovy--Kopitar--Brown
Iafallo--Carter--Vilardi
Pearson--Kempe--Toffoli
I like this setup. Roll 3 scoring lines.
My only concern is having a 35yo, 31yo and 34yo on the top line. Oldest top line in the league?
If this setup allows them to roll the lines more evenly it could slightly cut the ice time of the old man top line, and that's not a bad thing.
Personally I didn't think Gaborik and Jokinen were all that good. Your views may vary.Wouldn't you agree that the 35 year old and 34 year old were the two best forwards throughout the entirety of the 2017-18 season? I can't think of any other forwards who were as consistent as those two.
How is it not the problem? It's the main reason we lost to Vegas, IMO.
Imagine if the Kings traded for Lucic, with the Oiler taking on half the remain salary in exchange for Voynov .
The Kings toughness is going to have to mostly come from Kyle Clifford.
The Kings top 9 would have to be incredible for the team to dress someone like MacD, and if they did they'd have to scratch Clifford anyways.
Kovalchuk - Kopitar - Brown
Iafallo - Carter - Vilardi
Pearson - Kempe - Toffoli

LOL, I thought of this earlier today! They were talking about Lucic on NHL radio and I thought, “What if they Kings got him at half price.”
