Toffoli has 3 points in 2 games and is leading the Kings in scoring along with Iafallo.

Toffoli is not a play driver/catalyst. He's a gifted scorer who makes plays, but is inconsistent.

That's why I was the first to make the Ryder comparison.

He's doing well now, and I'm happy for him, but consistency will always be a concern until proven otherwise.

Carter, Toffoli, Muzzin, Lewis, Martinez and Pearson should all be on the block.. Kopitar, Doughty and Quick are your core for various reasons, Amadio, Kempe, Wagner, Brinkley, Iafallo and JAD are all much needed cheap contracts... You want complete again then you need to trim the fat and either use the assets acquired to draft properly or add a legit impact player like a Panarin and go from there...

I agree 100% with this. I don't think we should trade Kopitar and Doughty because they are elite and can play well for us into their late 30s. Also, its good to have some continuity and Kings legends retire as Kings. Quick should stay because we don't yet have his replacement. I don't think Cal or Campbell are ready to play a full season as a starter.

The rest of them players mentioned should be recycled. The Kings need to do a mini-rebuild like Boston to be competitive in 2-3 years. Players like Carter, Toffoli, Muzzin, Martinez and Pearson are going to just lose value staying on this team, and certainly are not putting us into contender status. Might as well get the most for them, open up cap space, and try to land an elite young player like Panarin, along with good drafting with the picks we get in trades.

Dustin brown will be practicing with Gabe soon... Brown snapped his finger and Vilardi has missed an eternity and still not ready.

Canadians are wimps.E5.

No surprise. They have listed a lot players in the past as "day to day" that ended up missing weeks or months. Either the medical staff is full of liars or they are just incompetent.
The NHL's injury report is the most vague of the 4 major American sports leagues. It's unreal how mum these clubs are on injuries, especially considering major sports betting. Vegas hasn't figured out a way to pry daily injury updates out of the NHL, which is bully for us. Coaches "feel" players being targeted, I think it's more posturing than anything else.

Orrr... they might have to wait until swelling goes down or to see how the injury responds to treatment. They just say day to day unless it’s something really obvious, like Carter or Brodz, or when Quick tore his groin. Even a specialist can’t predict how fast something is going to heal.

I’m somewhat suspicious of Luc, but I was outright skeptical with Lieweke. I doubt there is any ill intent.

Nah. NHL injury reports are shyte.

We never what's going on with our guys, even when it's Carter and his achilles, etc, until they come back and are on the roster.

The league is spooked the f*** out about injury reports. It's almost endearing, until it becomes annoying.

No, it's definitely players being targeted, to a degree, it's not every player, but let's say Drew Doughty has a nagging shoulder injury, he can play through it, do you really want the opponents to know what the injury is, what side it's on, then dump the puck and absolutely blast him each time? Because that's happened before....not that scenario, but the idea behind it.

I agree.

Technology is great with medicine, but not all information can be gathered in 24 hours. We sometimes have to do tests and follow up with developments with injuries to have a better idea.

I don't know too much about sports medicine, but I worked with cardiologists for 6+ years and not everything is immediately available.

I know Jim Fox is a homer, but when he made his prediction about Toffoli scoring 30 this year it made me wonder if he knows something we don't. May TT had a really good off season or something.

So far I'm liking what I'm seeing form Iafallo, Wagner, Toffoli, Kempe, Amadio, Toffoli. If those guys all step up this year it adds a lot of depth to our forward grouop.

It's very possible. Again, I hope I'm proven wrong. I have nothing against him. I just haven't felt comfortable hanging my hat on him yet.

Same can be said for every contact sport. I am not, nor have I ever been a fan of, the NHL's injury reports.

I get it. "Doughty has a shoulder, let's target it"

But at this point, with the league being as soft as it is, I think it's just the herd following itself.

I also know that hockey fans, by and large, like this top-secret injury report style of the NHL. I don't. To each their own.
