Ditto. These cuts are all justified, but I would have liked to see Gorgi and his Jason mask again, too.

Same here. He was very underwhelming with mediocre (at best) puck and skating ability. I realize that not all D-men are going to be exceptionally competent with the puck...but we have enough of them that Bear Gloves just isn't needed. Palliota was a better Dman than what Bear Gloves showed, and we didn't even keep him in Hartford.
 
They said he needed to acclimatize to the smaller ice. Let him crush it in Hartford and then we can reevaluate his game. I liked Graves a lot more than BearGloves
 
There's 38 players left, AV said they'll get down to around 30 after this game.

Crawley, Catenacci, Desjardins, Fogarty, Fontaine, Kosmanchuk, Schneider seem obvious demotions to me. I doubt anyone who played yesterday and wasn't demoted would be demoted today. So thats 31, maybe they just leave it at 31, considering Fast is injured.

I mean, maybe in another year he would've stayed around for a second look, but with the sudden depth we have he didn't deserve to stay. Out clause or not, DeAngelo and Pionk are both far better than him. Honestly Holden and Staal are better than him too.

Hopefully he stays in Hartford and gets used to the NA sized rinks and then we can get a better read on if he has a future here.
 
Is fogarty hurt? Isn't this 2 straight years that he was kept around but never saw a preseason game?

Admittedly, I figured they’d give him the time to adjust with the NHL club, but there’s no need for this.
 
I don't believe for one minute that the Rangers were being ignorant about his KHL clause. They did the same with Buchnevich.

I'm sure Gorton/AV/etc. sat down with Bereglazov and his agent and talked it over. It's not like they're intending to banish him to Hartford forever.

I feel like they’re typically up front with this stuff. If he was going back to the KHL, I don’t think they’d announce assigning him to Hartford, I think they’d be announcing mutual termination of his deal.
 
I don't get what the big deal is with Bereglazov. His faith was sealed when we signed the two big UFA Ds, and got DeAngelo in return for Stepan. Like seriously -- he is a LD. Maybe someone could be pushed over to RD like last season, but the result was pretty horrific. Now we got a log-jam at RD too. At LD we have McD, Skjei and Staal. And Holden. And Smith can play there. RD is Shatty, Smith, ADA, Pionk. Graves is a good guy but his game of course nose dived when he was played out of position at RD. There are like 2-3 guys in the league that can play well on the wrong side, there is a reason for that.

Sure Bereglazov might also be in need of a little time to adjust to the NA ice. It's a rookie, I would say it's easily 50/50 even among the better prospects. Still it's like it's a major event that BG needed a little time?? Lol
 
I'm surprised at the people surprised at Bereglazov..

He performed poorly at the prospect compeition and then struggled in his preseason game. IDC who your dpartner is.

Everything I said about TCT and bereglazov was spot on just graciously say yeah you were right. I got crucified here for it.
 
Holden was kept for this reason. We didn’t have a 7th if we moved Holden. Bereglazov couldn’t be trusted.

I was dead wrong however on Gropp huge disappointment. Expected slot more

Agreed. I'd rather pick up a Forward or two on waivers before the season begins than have Farnham or Desjardins. I think the jury is still out on Boo and Puempel but we could upgrade on both. I'm still unsure if I want to give such an early opportunity to Lias and Chytil.
