I would say they're being evaluated as potential callups as well as their status in the organization. Rangers can clearly see Day and Zborovskiy aren't ready. They want to see if Gilmore has improved enough to be a call up option or if he's someone they need to move on from this season.

Pedrie is a new comer and probably closer to NHL ready (if he ever will be) than Day or Zborovskiy so they want to get a better reading on him.

This is what I said on Pedrie earlier in the thread. He's a new guy, he'll be in Hartford, they need to assess where he's at. Day and Zborovskiy, they've had full seasons or more to evaluate and probably have a pretty good sense of what they can provide this season.

I also said the same thing regarding Gilmour before he saw his first game. They scouted him in college and liked him, he was good this time last year, then was a ****ing corpse for Hartford during the season. The team needed to assess if his game had come around at all.

Next time I'll just wait for you to make the points for me. LOL.

I think he'll have an NHL career for sure, even if it's as a journeyman. His ability to skate, shoot and move the puck up ice is valuable. Right now the rest of his game needs a lot of work and that's what will ultimately determine if he's a regular. Those first three attributes I mentioned though are in demand at the moment, and as long as it stays that way I see him clinging onto rosters as a depth guy even if his development from here out is minimal.

I think any career he has will come down to his ability to read and react. Right now, it really could either way with him.

But even for the journeyman career, he's going to have to keep getting better in that area because as it stands right now, it would be a bit of adventure at the AHL level, let alone the NHL level.

I feel like that's the keystone for Day - whether the Rangers feel it's there and developing, or whether it's just not there.

There were a lot of guys that performed poorly at TCT, so I struggle to pick out one that was the worst. Pedrie certainly wasn't good. However, I've made my thoughts on player evaluation from TCT pretty clear, so I'm not putting a ton of stock into it. I think he showed better at the end of last year in Hartford than he did at TCT, so I still have some hope.

Again, though, I think they just want to evaluate and see what they have. Guys like Zborovskiy and Day that were sent down, I think the team has a better grip on where they're at based on them being in the system for a longer period. Obviously there was scouting done on Pedrie, but the team probably still wanted to see some more of him.

Crawley is one who I would have liked to see get a look. Unless he's been bad in camp or they just made up their minds going in that he wasn't in the plans at all this year, I feel like he should have seen some time.

Has he been cut yet?

Has he been cut yet?

No, not yet. I was projecting based on the report that he, Day and Zborovskiy wouldn't be suiting up in the third game. The latter two were cut, but Crawley is still around which is good. Hopefully he gets a game.

Baser on their play so far, both Chytil and LA look like They deserve roster spots. This Will be interesting How it pans out. I do not see both guys making the team for a plethora of reasons, but stranger things have happened. It gives a lot of future hope as well.

Probably, but I'd also say you gotta consider what's best for these players.

Andersson looks like he just barely keeps up, and is like a 4th liner at this point. The offensive game seems a little fast for him. Do we want him on the fourth line for the time being and then in the press box when Fast returns? I don't know, I'd send him back.

Chytil looks very good offensively so far, might be ready for a top 9 role. So I'd keep him for now, and then after 9 games he's not playing well, you return him to Czech Republic, although I'll probably change my opinion on where these two should play another 50 times this preseason.

Zib interview; it was a lot of power plays recently and I like PP! :)
It will be fun to watch him tomorrow for sure!
Let`s go!! ))

Don't agree about Andersson. He hasn't had the same kind of impact offensively as Chytil, but he hasn't gotten a chance to play with the caliber players Chytil has. LA's had some very good cycling shifts and has shown a knack for making short distance and area passes that help the team move up ice and keep possession.

Also, not that impressed with Chytil. I mean, I am, but I don't see a spot for him this year. He seems largely lost everywhere but the O-zone. It's a great sign that he's done as well as he has at his age, but to me, LA looks more ready for a full-time spot.

My only issue with Miller as center that we lack quality wingers to replace him 56 pts. last season, and we need to draft or shop a quality winger next. But JT. Miller in a center position looked natural for him indeed. And I even consider Chytil & Lias A. to make the team with that comment - so we should have a good center depth if they can keep up at similar level to play in NHL.

Last night Bereglazov didn't stand out good or bad IMO. I don't know what it says about his future here.

I could see a scenario where Bereglazov goes back to Russia, Holden is dealt and they run with some combination of Staal/ADA/Graves/Pionk on the 3rd pair. I like what I see from the three '95 guys. All can make a contribution to this year's team.

I'd give both the nine games. It's important to expect nothing. They're too fresh.

In the one full game I watched, I'd put Pedrie right by Pionk. Different players but he moved the puck well. Didn't hold it much at all but moved it well.

All the talk seems to be about our draft picks. What do you guys feel about Leterri?

I thought Lettieri was okay in TCT, and I've actually been surprised by what I've seen from him in the exhibition games. I mean he still looks like a bottom six guy for sure, but he works hard, is seemingly in the middle of things a lot (like the play seems to find him) and shows some creativity. Hopefully he can have a nice year in Hartford and put himself in the running for a spot next year.

My thoughts as well. He seems to be a very mature player who knows his limits. Doesn't make too many risky plays
