Where is the roster for the Friday preseason game? Can't find it.

For me, even if you disregard his OT goal, he was easily the most noticeable player on the ice last night.

Again, it was against a squad with a bunch of AHL scrubs on it so you have to take it for what its worth. It is absolutely encouraging though.

not sure i agree with the first sentence..

id say to me the most noticeable players were Shatty, Kreider, and Zucc...in some order..and then id have Chytil 4th.

Again, I am struggling to see it.

Dom Moore was a pretty darn intelligent player who was a bit undersized and was never really a "toolsy" kind of player. He's also played more than 800 games and scored nearly 300 points at the NHL.

Nieves has never shown the kind of awareness on-ice that Moore did. Not in college, nor in the AHL. What he does have is the kind of speed and frame that would've made a guy like Moore a legit second line option.

I think he's a lot closer to Sjostrom than Moore at this point.

sounds more like Rico Fata

Maybe I was just paying attention to the kids more because we already know what those guys can do. :dunno:

They all had great games as well. Chytil just really stood out to me.

Roster for tomorrow's 3rd preseason game is out... no Crawley, Day or Zborovskiy. IMO sure cuts the next round.

Crawley is understandable. even if he was an overage draftee, he was just drafted and only the top picks usually ever get preseason games. I can't understand why Day & Zbo aren't going to get at least one game. Were they that bad in camp? I don't know why Kampfer needs a second look over one of those two. I'm pretty sure they are pack bound but give em a look!

the more i think about it..the more I think Kevin Shattenkirk was the best player on the ice...its not even the 3 assists..its like everytime the puck went near him, he was like a magnet...he got the puck, and got it up and to the forwards or skated it up or what not.

i really never paid attention to him, and i know its just 1 preseason game...but he's VERY, VERY good. like...how on earth did he sign for that contract good.

I can't believe it either. He really wanted to be here and I am damn happy about that. People say players don't take hometown discounts. Well, considering he could have had 7x7 (iirc) from other teams, he really took a MAJOR one for us.

He's got the flu right now, so I imagine he will get one when he's feeling better!

The more I think about it, the more I think Zibby may have come to camp in not the most optimal shape. I'm not a conspiracy theorist kinda guy, but I recall AV saying on the first day of camp, that the majority of players showed up in great/amazing shape (McD, Skjei, Kreider...), but others not so much and would have camp to work on getting better...

I think its weird that Zibby has been "sick" for a week, yet as another poster mentioned, he was at a team event the last couple of days. If your that sick, you're home resting/relaxing...

He keeps releasing new music, too.

Too sick to play hockey but not to DJ? Get your priorities in order. It's ****ing September.

yeah Shatty is real good offensively. Gonna be interesting to watch him all year. Lotta smart passes, a more dynamic Yandle with a better shot

Context is always important.

I remember a scene in Major League II where one of the players notices the lead-off hitter is showing a lot of power. The manager casually responds that it'll be interesting to see how he does when he's not facing a guy who will be bagging groceries in a week.

Obviously you can't get too up or too down at this point, but it's always a nice surprise to see a kid who is barely 18 not look out of place in his first North American pro game.

yah, gotta see how he continues playing against stronger competition, but he could only play against the guys who were out there last night and he did well

Makes sense, my only complaint is that guys who are almost surely not NHL players like Gilmour and Pedrie are getting preseason games.

I agree that Gilmour is hot garbage, but he was pretty decent this time last year and they probably wanted to see if he had improved at all since his abortion of a '16-'17 campaign. He absolutely should not get a second look though.

Pedrie is new and wasn't awful in 10 games or whatever for Hartford last year. I'm okay with them giving him a game or two to further evaluate where he's at.

Edge- True on Boo, just saying that I don't think he had to be Igor Larionov II to be able to be a 4th line center in the NHL, don't see anything that give me the impression that it would have been impossible for him to be a little smarter and poised on the ice. Does he have the smarts to become a top 6 center? Well that is another story. Just think that with his body and wheels, he is like there already to 80%. A little smarter and in synch with how AV wants us to play, and he would get the nod sooner rather than later.

Not a surprise, though maybe a surprise that they're going to get cut likely before getting a game.

Will be interesting to see where they land. My guess is that Crawley goes back to juniors and the other two stick with Hartford. If either Day or Zborovskiy gets sent back, though, that would not bode well for their future chances at making the league. IMO anyway.

I think this is a bit of a case where we as fans premier the unknown a bit more than the known than what is deserved. I definitely don't think it's a given that Pedrie and Gilmour has less potential than Day and Zborovsky. HFD was horrible last season and Gilmour as a PMD was exposed, he is still a smart kid with a lot of hockey in him. Same for Pedrie. Day and Zboro has bodies and can move, but to be honest I think their smarts are lagging a bit behind.

Give kids like Gilmour and Pedrie a little credit, they are very heady players. Likely to not make it? Sure, but that can be said of many players at camp.

London Free Press writer seems to think Crawley is a "longshot" to return to London.

What does the Rangers' D depth look like at the AHL level?

Pretty deep actually

Graves will likely go back IMO, you'll likely have Piedri, Zborovskiy, Day (possible he goes back to juniors), someone like Pionk or DeAngelo, Gilmore...those are just the prospects I remember off the top of my head disregarding any AHL deals they might have
