No Bracco, Fischer, Jones, Tufte, Mittelstadt, Yamamoto, Robertson, or Foote?

Everyone past Bracco wasn't invited, as others have mentioned.

As for Bracco, I personally don't want him on the team. He gives very little effort defensively. But his chances are probably very good with Boeser injured.

I'd imagine he is a lock now with Brock out. Fills in the RW side and if he manages to be placed in the top 6....he could put up some very nice numbers.

Ok so

Bracco
Fischer
Tufte
Mittelstadt
Yamamoto
Robertson
Foote
Wise
McCarthy
Turcotte
Warren

just were not selected?

How many guys were you planning to put on this team? SOMEBODY had to get left out. The younger guys will get their turn next year.

How good is Oettinger? Has great stats. But i´m from Sweden and have never seen him. Do you think he will be your starting keeper this WJC.?

I've seen Oettinger a fair amount and I think he's really good. But its tough to argue with the numbers Parsons is putting up.

My guess is that those two will each get a start in Games 1 and 2; then the hot hand gets the next start.

It appears it is Parsons job to lose with Woll as the back-up and Oettinger number three.

Goalie

Oettinger, Parsons, and Woll were all pretty obvious selections. For what it’s worth, I’ve heard from people who’ve seen them more recently than me that Parsons is most likely to come into camp as the number one goalie, followed by Woll as the back-up, and Oettinger as the third. But that could always change. It’s a short tournament and hot goaltending is key. Any of the three should be in consideration to be the number one guy if they’re playing well in the pre-tournament exhibitions/early pool play rounds.

Sorry if my questions seem a little stupid, I'm new to this tournament. I was planning on watching last year's but vacations prevented me from doing so.

He's referring to 2001 born defenseman Case McCarthy, along with two other 2001s in forward Alex Turcotte and defenseman Marshall Warren.

Seriously. Haha.

I thought it might have been Case, I made a post about him in the American Prospect thread. Saw him play live a few weeks ago, pretty impressive player.

I'm excited to watch this team this year. The D is on the smaller side but should be really skilled. My bias is definitely in watching Fox and Parsons but the forward crop looks pretty impressive this year as well. GL!

It's amazing how good this team could have been with players that are currently in the NHL. A lot of depth up front. My hope is a guy like Bellows contributes more than he has at BU so far. Goaltending looks very solid. Defense is a big question mark. No studs (IMO) and an overall undersized group.

With all the eligible guys in the NHL the US and Canada would be untouchable. The D is smallish but I'm excited to watch Fox. Set record for most points by a D in the NTP last year and has the highest PPG in, well forever, in College hockey. I don't get to watch him so the WJC will be the second time I get to watch him.

I was surprised to see how (relatively) well the D held up at the summer tournament/eval camp. Possibly helps that the D seems to be a tick down across the board for everybody compared to other years.

Thx for posting this. Interesting. Personally, I like Oettinger more than Woll right now. But there are plenty of people who know more about goaltending than I do.

Youre fine. Welcome to the crazy house. Once you start investing in this tourney, you'll be hooked. To me, its bigger than the Olympics / World Cup / World Championships. Its seriously a highlight of my year.

This. As far as international tournaments, this is by far the best, in my opinion. It's honestly some of my favorite hockey in general.

I hope the put Greenway-Keller-Harper as a line. They've looked great when put together.

Even though Bracco and DeBrincat both play RW, I'd like to see how they do on a line with White.
