Who are the goaltenders for USA? Also, who is the perceived starter?

I know Tyler Parsons is one and is likely the favourite to be the starter. He's the London Knights goalie. Missed a good chunk of time this year with an injury but came back pretty strong.

Thanks, this is what I suspected. I think Woll will be there too, but most likely in a back-up position.

I'm hoping Jack Achan makes this team. I didn't know a thing about him before I went up to Plymouth this summer to watch the game vs Canada. I walked away thinking, damn who is this kid. He made a few nice plays in the neutral zone to get around Canadian forecheckers and was good offensively. Been playing really well with St. Cloud, would like to see what he can do in the tournament. What's your guys thoughts?

I see him as a possible 3rd pairing guy. he's happens to be the smallest of the bunch, out of a pretty competitive USA blueline group. I've seen a couple SCSU games this year, but he didn't jump out at me on those appearances (partly because they were playing UMD :))

I was surprised to see Ahcan there this summer. I thought he played pretty well and there is a lot to like about him. But he's the number 8 d-man to me. To me, McAvoy, Jones, Lindgren, and Fox are locks. We need Cecconi so we have at least a little bit of size. I dont have Ahcan beating out Krys or Fitzgerald. Nothing against him, but it doesnt add up for me.

Are you going? I remember you went to go see the U.S. play Sweden in Kingston 2 years ago and had a good write up about it.

Long time no chat! Remember having some great convos with you in and around the 2014 WJC's. Love reading your USNDP posts/American prospect posts.

Yes, I'm going to the game tomorrow. 5 rows up, so should be able to get a good feel for the players. Looking forward to seeing Keller, Fox, Mcavoy. Hopefully they're all dressing tomorrow.

Hope all is well, and I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

That's a fair point, I agree with everything here.

Awesome! Yeah I remember chatting with you back then. Thanks buddy, Hockeytv (former Fasthockey) Showed the pre tournament USA games that year. Hopefully they do that for this one too.

I hope they take Ahcan over Krys if that's the decision. Ahcan is much better offensively, smaller but plays with snarl whereas Krys is soft, and neither is a defensive stalwart. Krys unfortunately seems to have plateaued at 16, and nothing he's done in the NCAA seems to contradict that at this point.

Yeah Krys was really hyped up when he was with the U17 team. But hasn't been as dominant. Similar to Max Gildon when he was playing Midget U16 and freshly drafted by Vancouver in the WHL. He just hasn't been the standout we thought he'd be in the USHL and against college teams this year with the U18 team.

Krys shouldn't make it just cause he's a returnee. He didn't really impress last year and he's done nothing to warrant getting a spot on the team so far this year. Ahcan meanwhile, has looked solid.

I think Cecconi makes the team to add a bit more size and defensive mindededness to the back end, leaving the final spot between Ahcan and Krys and hopefully Ahcan gets it.
