Don't know what to expect from the 2nd round yet. I think Anaheim can very well turn their series around. Nashville are certainly favorites. Washington's in big trouble. I think that we are mainly getting improvements from those teams. They have the goalscorers.

System should be same as always, you're allowed to register 25 players in total. Only need to register 17 for the first game. I see us registering 2G 6D 12F for the first game, leaving five spots open(but one for goalie only).

Less interest in speculating about D-men, as we are stacked on D. But if we register 6 D and want 7 then we have this out of the 2nd round:

ANA EDM: Lindholm or Larsson
STL NSH: Gunnarsson or Ekholm

PIT WSH: None
NYR OTT: None (Karlsson injured)

So in any case we will in theory have two D men from 2nd round and not more than that. Gunnarsson being the weakest card of the 4 but more defensive minded so he might be equally interesting given the current squad.

I'd take Klefbom over Larsson

Larsson is a better fit, our 3rd pair doesn't have a right-hander. Klefbom is very good but more similar to the other guys, especially the left-handers. Obviously we haven't seen Edler play yet.

No interest in Gunnarsson. Ekholm you'd have to invite, he's the best available after Karlsson.

Right now:

Omark - Rask - Lindholm
Landeskog - Söderberg - Nylander
Eriksson Ek - Karlsson - M.Kempe
Klingberg - Krüger - Lundqvist
Everberg, Nordström

Nylander at center maybe? He's the best one on the roster.

He certainly is might be hard when he really hasn't played center all season to get acclimated to a "new" position on a bigger ice surface ins such a short amount of time.

How many minutes should we let our defenders play if the games are important?

Hedman - Strålman 24 min
OEL - Klinger 24 min
Edler - Brodin 12 min?

Just for the numbers ToI, regular season.
Hedman (24:30) - Strålman (22:54) min
OEL (24:36) - Klinger (23:21) min
Edler (24:18) - Brodin (19:34) min

No real reason to let them play more than the do regular season, it is post season after all and the line-up is pretty solid. Say that 1st pair goes in at 23 min 5vs5+defPP and Hedman gets a total of ~24:30 min with own PP. (The rest of the own PP can be distributed among the rest of the top 4.)

2nd pair 21 minutes of 5vs5+defPP.
That gives about 10 minutes 5vs5+defPP for the last pairing (if appr. 3 own & full PP).

Forwards other then nylander looks bad offensivly. Rakell would been awesome.

Lack of creativity, high end skill and most of all goalscoring and to some extent speed so yeah Nylander fits the bill perfectly and of the non eliminated players Rakell brings the most of what we need but really any of Rakell, Silfverberg, Forsberg, Arvidsson, Bäckström, Steen or even Zibanejad would all be great additions.

Didnt larsson play vm last year and was horrendous

Yeah, but then he had to lift a big role, and then his weakness was shown, which one should remember when people in other cases are label the so called offensive d-men for being bad defensivly. The offensive d-men have a much harder role that demands more off them, and it is usually the failed offensive d-men that become the socalled defensive d-men, but the offensive d-men that succed would probably do that job much better as well.

But with that said. He could be intresting in a more limited role, where he can use his physicality and focus more on being destructive, but I am not sure if he really would be better than anyone.

But I do not think it is a good idea to bring in another D anyway, we already have 6 very good NHL D. It could cause some irritation among the NHL players, they show up and then get beached.

I hope team sweden add 3 top F

Bäckström, Rakell, Silfverberg

Could happen. With the number of NHL players that say yes, maybe it was a mistake to add so many medicore NHL forwards, like, Kruger, Nordström, Eriksson Ek, and give Lundqvist the C, well he is excuse for giving Lundqvist the C if it helps bringing Henrik Lundqvist to the team.

A Player I have been a bit disapoited on is Elias Lindholm. In NHL it feels like he has taking a step forward, but in this games it has been the same meh player he was last time in whc. Hopefully he become better.
