No idea about Subban. I'm not convinced that he will definitely go if available and reasonably healthy. Giordano is a good player, but I don't have much interest in him if there is no worthwhile Olympic tournament going forward. I would rather Brodie or Hamilton. Getting just two of Subban/Ellis/Brodie/Hamilton/Giordano would be massive for this team.

I hear you and agree about Subban and the rest you wrote.

Just two of those guys............we would be looking real good then.

Also added is Point ??? i havnt followed Point this year...does he really deserve it ?

Point so impressed the Lightning during training camp that he got a spot on the roster instead of being in the AHL. His work during the first half of the season was quite solid, keeping him on the roster instead of being sent down.

But after Stamkos went down, Filppula and Boyle were traded and we lost THREE centers in ONE fricking game due to injury (Johnson, Namestnikov, Paquette), Point had to take over the #1C position. A rookie as #1C!! The kid just turned 21 this season! :amazed:

Point was amazing, kept his composure, got some scoring of his own happening and confidently centered our top line during that final strong push that got us within one blasted point of the playoffs.

So yeah, in this Bolts fan's humble opinion, Point definitely deserves a chance to play for Worlds . :D

very much so.

I think he can do very well on a line with DUCHENE MACKINNON.

if not, he can rotate in and out of the lineup depending on the opponent. much like Schenn did a few years ago...but that was only dictated by a late and rather significant addition. (Crosby)

If Skinner is there that is a good edition. He had a very good season, particularly at the end of the year, and he can create a lot of offence on his own.

so im guessing no Benn or Seguin ?

That guy was only talking (not strongly though) about Carolina players. Likely if Benn and Seguin called in and told Hockey Canada that they wanted to go, they would be there. There are still enough spots.

Skinner was fantastic this year. Would be neat to see him with Tavares again if he goes. Good chemistry between those two.

Canada looking strong again.

Skinner - Giroux - Simmonds
- Duchene - Mackinnon
O'Reilly - Scheifele -
- Point -

- Barrie
Morrissey -
Matheson - Demers

Great team so far. Gold favorites atm.

We may need to tone down our expectations for a player like Giroux this year though, had a tough season and was not at his best by all accounts.

I am assuming his health issues must be pretty much cleared up or I cannot see the flyers organization signing off on him going so that is good.

Still, happy he is there and hope he has his "A" game because when he does he is quite the player.

Kind of surprised Little did not get asked to play

Little is good. Would have been worth an ask.

I am interested in where O'Reilly will line up. He can centre a line, but he's also been a winger for Giroux in 2015 and Scheifele in 2016.

Skinner would be great. After Benn and Hall, he's arguably the best LW available. He's pretty underrated because he plays in Carolina, but damn, his skills are elite imo.

I'm still hopeful for Jamie Benn. If he goes, the forward group will be absolutely insane. I'm not sure about Seguin, he's never ruled it out, but...I would be surprised now. I haven't heard a thing from LA, so no idea if Carter is even in the conversation or not, which kinda surprises me.

The team looks real good so far. Still need a goalie though which should be #1 priority. I think a couple more offensive players and a top D and this team is good enough to win gold. I'm sure HC has a few players who would say yes but are waiting if better ones will say yes.

Pretty pissed at Drouin for not accepting an invite, what's his ****in problem? he better be hurt or the guy is in my bad books.

If Drouin is not legitimately nursing some injuries, he needs a smack upside the head. Nate needs to give his junior buddy a call and tell him to get onboard.

Could it simply be that Drouin is not under contract for next season and thus doesn't want to risk injury with a pending negotiation?

I would not be surprised to find out that Drouin had been playing his last couple games injured. He was just rather 'off' with his timing and a bit slower than his usual breakneck speed.

I'm glad Skinner is there as well. Played well this year. I just hope he doesn't fall back into big ice bad habits which infuriated me the past 2 tournaments he played...lay off the Skinner pirouettes, Jeff.

Liking the way the team is filling out so far. Still need 4 topline players 2 forwards + 2 D-men (McDavid Stone caliber type players.)

Thought it was a rather mediocre opening night to the POs...Didn't watch any of Mtl v NYR... mostly Pitt v CBJ and Oil v SJ.

I am guessing that there are still some serious discussions going on, at least until Hockey Canada makes an official release with players listed. I am expecting another defenceman and two more forwards before the wait for the first round exits.
