I think the missing piece to this team is a true enforcer. Blake needs to get on the phone with Kevin Westgarth right away

Nope

Matt Johnson for. Enforcer
Robb Stauber for backup
Aki Petteri- Berg and Jere Karalahti for 2nd pairing when we trade Muzz and Marty

Agitator/pest:

Esa Pirnea and Kai Nurminen could be a formidable duo on the PK.

Vitali Yachmenev should add scoring to our PP.

Arto Blomsten QB the PP

So I keep checking the thread for rumors that won't pan out but it is just continual posts about players that didn't pan out.

Moving on to the rumor side of things, Justin Williams.

Do we want? Kind of a polarizing figure around here post-Lucic fiasco. If they were to get him and Thornton, what's your lineup sans Gaborik to start the season?

J-Dub would bring back some much needed leadership and fire to this lifeless team.

He is still a savy veteran forward that can work the scoring areas.

Depends on how much he wants and for how long. I would welcome him back easily. I won't expect too much from him offensively, but I'm sure everyone in the locker room would love to have him back

I'd like to have him back. I wasn't sure he'd want to come back since he's still close with Mike Richards.

Guys a total winner, inside and out and speaks his mind, which the Kings locker room is missing. But I don't think he'd be a good fit now, the Kings are not in a position to go deep. And I think he knows that. Plus, one of the reasons he signed in DC was because his wife wanted their family close to home. I think given his choices, if he can, he'll stay in the East. But then again, money talks. Dreger said at least 10 teams have contacted him and some at the very top. He said he would like to sign with a team that has a real chance to win next year. And from the rumors I've read, there are a few that have reached out. He's got that mental edge and fire that some teams that went deep but deep enough lacked. And young teams, like the Oilers and Leafs, those 3rd period letdowns, lack of vet leadership, they'd benefit. He's a valued commodity and I'm curious to see how much term he gets.

I think Luc & Co. believe they are a contender next season if they add Thornton since they expect bounce-backs from certain guys, full Quick and a slight breath of fresh air via the coaching change.

If they do believe that, then it makes sense they would want to add Williams on top of that.
