We're really setting ourselves up for disappointment around here if Thornton isn't signed.

I've been a Kings fan since 1993 and I don't ever recall us landing the big fish free agent. Everytime it looked like there was a possibility we'd get our hopes up and it would never happen.

Demitra is the biggest free agent signing I can remember us making.

Thornton would be a little different. How many free agents have played on the west coast for a decade+? Usually it's trying to get players to go east to west. If the former teammate thing has any weight, the Kings haven't had that either.

I'm definitely in the I'll believe when I see the press conference frame of mind on this. I'm not expecting this to happen at all. We're likely just being played for leverage, but whatever. We'll see.

Frolov is still playing over sea's. He'd be a great pick-up on a cheap 3 year/15M deal imo.

Pavel Rosa should ass speed and scoring to the top 6.

Justin Papineau at 3C and Roman Vopat at 4C.

Any thoughts on where Aaron Rome would slot in on D?

If we bring in Thonton +, our defense down the middle will increase and the pressure will be greatly relieved from our defense. We can stick with our younger dmen like LaDue and play them. We can win 5-3 instead of losing a 3-2 game by a 1-2 score.

The Kings need firepower in the lineup, and there's no better ones than Jeff Shevalier, Keith Redmond, and Brandy Semchuk: the best trio to come from the Phoenix Roadrunners.

Im not really sold on the bottom two pairs. Muzz has a lot to prove after last season and while Ladue looked promising, I'm not sure he can hold his own just yet on the 2nd pair. ditto for Gravel. I expected a lot more from him and was kinda disappointed by what we saw from him thought I'm hopeful he will improve...he needs to use his size to his advantage and not shy away from contact. it will be interesting to see if/how things change with Stevens as the HC
