I like the direction of the rebuild and would rather keep Detroit's assets.

Obviously Boeser is the best asset in the proposal and I suspect there may be better offers for Boeser.

Boeser is a good player, but he’s also had multiple concussions. He only scored 40 goals one time playing with the goat JT miller. Let’s see how he does without him.

Other than the one outlier season boeser hasn’t even scored 30 goals in a single other season. He’s also a pending UFA. I don’t think Vancouver gets much value back for him without an extensions in place. Also, would you want to pay him 7-8 million until he’s 35?… he likely gets a late 1st from a team like the panthers (30-32OA) in a shitty draft.

For the proposal, wings fans likely decline as he can be signed for free in a few months.

Rasmussen is a 6’6” 3rd liner who can defend decently well and chip in 25-30 points. He only makes 3M. The fact that you think he has negative value is laughable.

He’s not great but he’s far from negative asset lol. Especially with the premium GMs place on size
Every team in the league would like him on their roster. Especially at his cap hit. He’s hard to play against every night.

He’d be “THAT” type of player this year, who Tampa would be circling and overpaying for, if they had draft picks left. Thinking his 26-32 years would be very productive. Good bet he settles into a 40-50 point player. At 6’6” they don’t come around very often who play a 200’ game.

No offence, but a career high of 33 pts and only 15 pts so far this year. He is what he is at this point, as he isn't improving, unless he has one really good year where he hits 40-45, he will continue to be 20-30 pt player who leaves a lot to be desired.

I’m not sure I see much of a fit for Boeser long term in Detroit. Wings already have two right shot goal scoring wingers as good or better than Boeser in Raymond and Debrincat. Also not at all a fan of trading 2/3rds of a third line that’s playing well. Rasmussen’s 5v5 play always gets underrated.

Despite what people say... Rasmussen can play wing and center, PKs, is physical and will chip in 15 goals a year. I don't think he has crazy value or anything, but he's definitely not a negative asset and lots of teams would love a guy like him for a playoff run. Someone earlier in the thread says he plays like he's 5'6, despite he's got 90 hits already this season, leads Detroits forwards in hits. 5'6 players don't fight Brady Tkachuk

There's wings fans that cant get over the fact that he was a top 10 pick (the first one in forever), and he's just a solid third liner. I'm not his biggest fan, and you might be right about what he is/will be, but he's a legit third line player that can move up and down the line up

To me hits is a lot of time a misleader with players like Ras as most are light bumps at best. Helm always had good hit totals, but the last 4 or 5 years he didn't throw what you would call hits and still had lots of them. I feel like most of Ras's hits are light bumps and not really what I call being physical. I don't think he is terrible or anything, but to me he doesn't move the needle in any meaningful way. He is a very replaceable level player. One of those guys who if he missed games, I don't think we miss a beat at all. He does PK, and I think he is decent defensively, that said we do have a really bad PK, so not sure that says much.

To me, my annoyance is mostly there was a time 2 seasons ago, where it finally looked like he was putting it together and then he got hurt and he has not played like that since. I do also think Lalonde somewhat got him used to being only a defensive guy and he has forgotten that he should be a power forward who can play offensively.
