So Blake said this is the roster they are going with. I am somewhat disappointed, I know it's hard to draw UFAs but he should focus on trades. THis team has missed the playoffs and ticket prices are still on the rise even with the lousey product on the ice. We're gonna be in the bottom with Vancouver and Phoenix again.

The opinion is shared by Brian Lawton of NHL Tonight:

The Kings have been a little bit of a disappointment for metoday...I think that the contracts of Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown have proven to be a big burden for them. I was expecting maybe to see something more out of them today but until they can figure out solutions for that, they're kind of stuck. They've got some really good players, they've got two great guys down the middle in Kopitar and Carter. You've got one of the best defensemen in the National Hockey League, an All-World goaltender, but they're not able to do much maneuvering right now and this is one of the teams I expected more from.

The opinion is shared by Brian Lawton of NHL Tonight:

Lawton makes no sense, he answered his own question as to why the Kings didn't do more. The Kings can't be paying Shattenkirk or people like that money that overlaps when Doughty is due his massive raise and no one was touching Brown or Gaborik. The Kings have to make sure they have the money to sign Doughty to a massive extension when the time comes.

What are the chances Iaffallo or Amadio play 3C ? Maybe we will be better off with young talent . They are saving the cap for Doughty I guess .

I'm thinking that'll be dealt with sufficiently when the time comes. But if it makes you feel better NOW, how about this?

To: LA Kings

James Neal

To: Vegas Knights

Dustin Brown
LA's 1st round pick in 2018
LA's 2nd round pick in 2019
Clague OR Moverare

Vegas gets their long-term captain and we get cap relief beginning summer of 2018. Is it a deal?

:yo:

So, shall we start discuss next year's draft? I'm not opposed to trading doughty cause with what he's going to get paid the kings can't improve.

So what the hell was the point of buying out Greene? If this is the final roster then the Kings go into 2017-18 with $5 million in cap space. Now they have to pay Greene again next year.

Clague and Moverare are future top 4 dman for us who are going to make Martinez and Muzzin expendable . Clague and Moverare are very u defeated. ISS had Moverare at 29 in 2015.

Awful!

I am wondering how paying Doughty another $5M in cap hit improves the team.

Blake has a lot of work to do if this roster has a chance of contending. I see it as a 3 year project at least. In 3 years Carter is 35, and Kopitar is 33 years of age.

They say Iaffallo really stood out at development camp with his speed and skill. So you never know.

Yeah I read that too , seeing Pittsburgh , Chicago with Hartman and Schmaltz adding younger pieces who perform and help make the team faster and add skill might start being the model NHL teams follow. I wouldn't be surprised to see Iaffalo be 3C but we do have to many bottom 6 forwards .

Kempe
Brodzinski
Shore
Lewis
Brown/Gaborik
Clifford
Nolan
Dowd
Andreoff
Mensch,Auger,Iaffalo

Something's got to give . Way to many forwards for bottom 6 and Brodzinski and Kempe have to be up with the team also Auger and Mersch are no longer waiver exempt. Clifford is the 1 player that I think gets paid to much for his role .

Kempe/Gaborik-Iaffalo-Brodzinski/Gaborik can be a speedy skilled 3rd line.

heck with Neal, that may be enough for Duchene...and could land Landeskog. They wanted Ladue though.
Clague could probably make Avs roster this year...their D blows dead apes

Trade Clifford and Nolan for picks.

I think Blake did what he could.

The main thing for this team will be a new attack system/philosophy.

I expect Brodzinski to fill in if Gabby is out any time to start the year.

Iafallo could be a surprise.

Is what it is. LA is in a holding pattern until something can be done with Brown and Gaborik.

I do think Doughty is in danger of bolting if LA doesn't figure things out.

As it is, LA will be lucky to make the playoffs.
