And I know it's eklund but he is saying Galchenyuk to NYR for Staal + pick is being talked about.[/B] We can definitely beat that with either Martinez or Muzzin

by him and his 'sources'...Montreal wouldn't do that, I like Staal but he's got concussion issues and older than they are looking for. Brodin would be a good trade for both, and the Wild have to move a d.

That's horrific for Montreal even if it's a first round pick. A young middle 6 center for an old 3rd pair d-man? Why would they do that?

Trading for Dion Phaneuf's bloated contract is insanity.

Some of you folks are advocating moves, just to make moves.

Trade freeze is tomorrow . So if all these trades are rumored shouldn't they have been completed by now ? Since there will be no more trades and the expansion draft is coming up.

It's been much quieter than I expected around the league

Roster freeze goes into effect tomorrow at noon. Any trades involving Vegas won't be announced until the 21st, when their selections are also made public. Hopefully some information leaks out in the days leading to the 21st.

Thank you for the clarification , I'm sure we will see some trades announced with Vegas but I figured more teams would be active before the trade freeze so they can maneuver and protect the players they want too for the expansion draft.

I was of the understanding the league doesn't want Vegas upstaged so none of the done deals will be revealed until Vegas announces its roster.

Voynov can apply for a waiver of the entry ban. Such applications take 6 months to process. This means, if Voynov wished to make it to training camp, he would have had to apply for a waiver 6 months prior to the start - early March at the absolute latest.

But Voynov probably would want to get paid. Teams use up their available cap money in the first two weeks of the free agency period. July. To get a waiver by July (and voynov would still need to go through the visa application process), he would have had to apply in 2016.

Not saying he has, but he may have already done this and we wouldn't necessarily know. Maybe Mayor knows this and this is his source.

I would take Voynov back on the team. He would help solve some problems without having to give up any assets.

Again, I'm not saying this is the case, but it is a possibility.

A work visa is applied for by the employer. The kings and bill daly would obviously know if there was an application in process. The are acting like and saying they have no direct information.

There is no sign that he has taken any steps to return. There is the KHL contract issue, too. He is still under contract and can't play in the NHL while that exists.

there are too many legal and procedural hurdles for voynov to return.

Voynov Also has to buy-out his contract, that would have been news if he had done so.

This is what they are supposed to do if it is happening. No point in putting it in the media if you do not know the outcome.

Agreed, but he's not going to buy out the remaining portion of the contract if the Visa doesn't get reinstated, thus that hasn't happened yet.

Again, I'm not saying any of this is happening, but all this could be in the process without any of us knowing.

For anyone still thinking Vegas is taking Gaborik or Brown in some form or fashion.

He also said in a reply that he doesn't think they even discussed Brown. I'd gather from all this that the Kings likely have no interest in moving the 1st round pick to Vegas.

My guess is Lewis gets picked. Unless the Kings move Muzzin/Martinez in the next few hours for a forward. Then it'll probably be McNabb. If that happens it would put a lot of pressure on signing a defenseman in FA or making another deal. Which could still be a deal with Vegas still. i.e.: If Vegas drafts so and so and flips them to us and we'll yada yada to them. Darren Dreger seem to indicate in a tweet that LA might be a team looking to do that.(That later half, not that the Kings are moving Muzzin/Martinez today)

I don't think LA comes away with a scorer this summer.

The market is over saturated with younger available dmen.

Hope they don't overspend in free agency.

It will be a very quiet off-season for the Kings. They don't have room. No one wants the bad contracts. Kings have never been particularly good at attracting FAs. They're going to hope last season was a fluke basically.

They have flexibility but they need to shed some bad contracts. Brown and Gaborik need to go. They have about 9 bottom six forwards in Shore, Dowd, Lewis, Nolan, Clifford, Andreoff, Kempe, Brodzinski, and Mersch.

Gaborik will start the year hurt but basically Kings starts AGAIN with
Gaborik or fill in until he is healthy-Kopitar-Brown
