Hague is about as close to McIlrath as they are going to get, so I assume if he is around at #21 they take him, or maybe just skip all that and take him at #7?

Hague, IMO, is less of a project pick than to that of McIlrath. Hague is big, can skate and can score!! McIlrath's skating was always an issue, but it was above average compared to other big defensive defenders in juniors.

With that said, I hope NYR stays away from Hague with that 7th pick. He's fine at 21st.

Like Tobbe and jas have mentioned before, I think NYR trades down from 21st to grab some more picks. Use 7th on a center!!

Especially with the need for a highly-skilled center, and the fact that they've added Pionk and DeAngelo, a center at #7 is the obvious move.
