He is on his way back already, someone reported it yesterday or the day before that. If he heals in time he will be named to the Olympic roster.Swedish media spoke today with Fredrik Sjöström (Frölundas GM) and Rikard Grönborg (HC for team Sweden) regarding wether or not Lias will play in the olympics. Both of them pointed to the fact that he is currently rehabilitating his shoulder in NYC under the care of the Rangers saying that he might not come back to Frölunda or play for team Sweden. According to them the Rangers were impressed with what they saw from Lias during the world juniors. Reading between the lines to me their comments are alluding that we might see Lias in a Rangers jersey this very season.

Would definitely be a cool experience for him to be on the Olympic team and would make the Olympics at least slightly interesting rather than straight up depressing.
Watching freaking Matt Gilroy represent USA in the Olympics while guys like Werenski, Matthews and Boeser stay home. Insane.
Especially disappointing since USA could field a really great team this yearI'll probably watch the other events in the Winter Olympics for the first time since probably 2002. I couldn't be more underwhelmed by the garbage the US hockey team is trotting out there. And I'm going to assume that the rest of the teams have worse garbage (save maybe Canada and Sweden).
WAIT, Freddy Shoes is Frolunda’s GM now!?

Would be rooting AGAINST Russia.
If Lias makes it I will be rooting for THIS Swedish team.
Larry Brooks said:management’s greatest summer miscalculation was that Andersson, snapped with the No. 7 selection acquired in the Stepan Swap, would be NHL-ready from the start
My apologies, I was wrong. Lias was actually at the Rangers game tonight and supposedly they are considering bringing him over to the Pack for the remainder of the season. That is strange. You would think the GM would know if he was on his way back to sweden. I guess we will find out soon enough.
Feel like Lias is the type of player Pronman doesn't love, so I'm not all that surprisedHonorable Mention Top 50. 27 2017 draft picks in the top 50, 31 total counting the honorable mentions, so this author thinks he's 1st round in a re-draft, but he's one of only two top 10 picks thats not in the top 50 or the NHL. Only 3 of the top 15 are not in the top 50.
Pronman: 2017-18 midseason Top 50 NHL prospects
I assume Rasmussen is one of the other top 10 picks from last year that didn't make the cut.Honorable Mention Top 50. 27 2017 draft picks in the top 50, 31 total counting the honorable mentions, so this author thinks he's 1st round in a re-draft, but he's one of only two top 10 picks thats not in the top 50 or the NHL. Adds an interesting wrinkle for the rest of the season, I'm personally pulling for him to go to the Olympics because the Rangers and Hartford are kind of trash and they'll still be there when the Olympics are overhttps://nypost.com/2018/01/16/the-one-hope-keeping-rangers-from-year-of-failed-re-tooling/
Brooks says that Andersson might go to the Wolf Pack after he rehabs his injury.

Thats a bit ridiculous that someone getting serious consideration for the Olympics cant even cut this man's top 50.
Yeah, I'm not surprised or offended by any means. Everyone's list has their own bias attached to it, but that's part of the fun and part of why it's good to get other opinions.Yes, Rasmussen is the other one in the top 10. Foote the only other from the top 15.
And I agree with the above comment that Pronman ranks skill before other talents, but I agree on that front. I would've had Andersson like 10 spots higher, I also don't agree with Pronman's ranking of the skilled players near the top of the list, but I can't say that I think Pronman is all that far off about Andersson.
He claimed in the comments that he thinks he'll be a 2nd/3rd line tweener, mentioned his lack of skating and skill as reasons why he didn't make the top 50.
