I got a second place trophy once. I threw it away.
Rubbish bin or in the crowd?

There's a difference?Rubbish bin or in the crowd?
You make it sound like an objective fact that what he did was not right.
What he did was not right. It was excusable, understandable, explainable. But not right
There's a difference?
Was he Canadian? You missed out, on Saturday I told one guy most of the media thought it was great and he then lost it I guess and compared what Lias did to terrorism
It's like the dark, shadowy place in The Lion King.we have a politics board?
Says who?
99.99999% Olympians, runner-ups in world, continental etc championships.
Please do not respond. I don't want to go through another round of this.
Was he Canadian?
You clearly have some anti Canadian thing goin'on that you just can't get beyond. Look, I'm sorry eh that we were better and won...okay? Now take off. I have some old episodes of SCTV to watch and some Rush to listen to.
Did you just have a stroke? You guys are hilarious...I almost wish the Swedes had won and then none of this would have happened.
Say, do you remember watching the episode of Futurama in New New York where the professor finds cardboard boxes that lead to a thousand alternative universes. Here's a break week project for some of you since there are no games this week. Search around town and see if you can find the box that leads to the universe where Sweden won junior gold, Lias has made HF boards ecstatic as he captained the NNY Rangers to the Cup, our coach is no longer AV and some forum members aren't whining about Pavel Benchnavic not playing or producing for that matter. When you find it, get back to me.
Hey did you read any headlines about second place Georgia players handing back silver medals for losing in OT to Bama in the national championship? Now, Maybe they don't give medals or trophies for that because I'm sure someone would have given their's back, first crack at gold since the 80s and all.
It definitely isn't the holier than thou attitude that irks peopleYou clearly have some anti Canadian thing goin'on that you just can't get beyond. Look, I'm sorry eh that we were better and won...okay? Now take off. I have some old episodes of SCTV to watch and some Rush to listen to.

They do give out a runner up trophy. Alabama destroyed last year's trophy in the run up to the championship game, actually.
I’ve never understood why being proud of a high finish like second place means that you are satisfied to leave it there. That’s my biggest complaint about the “not first then last” attitude.
I’m mentioning this because I’ve seen a lot of it in this thread. LA can do what he wants with the medal, however it’s seen, but the fact that he was so upset with the silver that he threw it away does not mean he’s any more driven than the guys who wanted to keep theirs or even than the American bronze finishers who wanted to keep theirs.

Cant really compare the silver medal to the bronze. The bronze is something you win.
For the love of whatever deity you believe in dont ever set foot there. It is a very dark place.
The silver is something you win too. You won it when you qualified to play in the gold medal game.
