He had 7 points (3g, 4a) in the last 9 games he played, all even strength. He turned it up just fine - nagging injuries and frankly just an awful start hampered him, but I'm not the least bit worried about Stralman going forward.

That's nine games though.

If Stralman returns to 35 point form, then great. But I'm not sure it's something we should be banking on. We need more offense generated from the D.

But we have Marc Andre Begeron Barberio DeAngelo Sergachev for that!

What's with the TyJo for Hamonic nonsense on the trade board?

I was all for trading him before we traded Drouin. Now he's gone there's no way we can afford to trade Johnson.

What the hell is going on here....

Are we saying Stralman is not a puck-mover now?

Well in the case of Stralman the puck outright moves right by him every single time he's on the power play. Stralman's poor puck movement and inefficiency at holding it in is easily the #1 reason followed unwillingness to shoot by Kucherov (since fixed) that we had such a dog **** power play until last year. It used to be that the force play to Stamkos was so predictable but Stralman couldn't even make a good pass to for the one-timer.

Pretty much. We need a righty PP point badly. We get a good one and it's probably an extra 5Gs for Stamkos at least.

I'm really also not getting the "we need a RHS for the power play" talk. We had what, fifth ranked PP in the league with a lefty on the point. Unless you think we're going to roll two #1 units.

Best PP we had all time was when we had Stamkos on one dot launching bombs and Vinny on the other launching bombs. Now we have Kucherov and Stamkos. Who cares which is primary option as long as both are a threat.

Yeah. Feels like we should go Stamkos-Hedman-Kucherov across the top. I don't see a reason to break up Hedman-Kucherov. Kuch led the league in PP goals. Wasn't Hedman close to top of the league in PP assists?

I'd like a puck-moving lefty, more for ES than the PP, and, if we can afford it, a stay-at-home righty who can both replace Sustr and act as insurance on Dotchin.

Hoping this happens.. means we won't sell the farm for Shattenkirk and will likely get a manageable contract back to sign a top 6.

Same but I have a feeling Yzerman is going to go after someone not on anyone's radar, whether a good D or not.

Would much rather go after Connor Murphy than Hjalmarsson or Harmonic if going for a defensive defenseman.is younger and would be cheaper to acquire.

I don't get this? We've needed a righty PP point for a while now. Stamkos can use a guy who can get him the puck the same way Hedman gets it to Kuch. And who's to say based on many things (including injuries and streakyness) Stamkos and Kuch won't be split on different PP units?

Also, we MOST CERTAINLY need a pick moving RHD to help with our transition game. So this is really two birds with one stone.

How can our need for a legit righty puck moving defenseman be any clearer?

We needed a righty PP QB before Kucherov turned into the league's biggest PP threat. Hedman struggled to pass to Stamkos. He has exactly 0 struggles passing to Kucherov.

We have the 5th best PP in the league right now. Is this really a serious team need anymore? Is it going to win us that many more games to improve the PP? I'd much rather address the ES transition game. To me, that looks more like a lefty to play with Stralman though.

Sergachev is meant to be future right side PP. Lets see what he has in the prospects camp before we decide how far away he is.

This is Jon Cooper's team. It's already been decided. 2021.

I'm expecting SY to acquire a D and sign depth scoring. Not a whole lot in D to sign in FA without overpaying.

Yzerman just needs to chill on the defense. We gave up Drouin for Surge (a fair deal) but then we stacked Gusev on top of asking Vegas to take Garrison. If we seriously make another trade involving our forwards then we're gonna be outright selling our souls to fix the back end. He better have a BIG FISH at forward lined up

Ok, stop. Kuch was a maniac on the PP starting in Jan/Feb. Btw...after Stamkos worked with him on it.

Stamkos is still the league's most dangerous shot on the PP. Just because Kuch was amazing for 3 months it's no argument against not needing a guy to feed Stamkos - that's foolish.

That's the typical HFboard, forget the guy with the career achievement, what have you done for me lately mentality.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact we desperately need a righty puck moving D. Most likely they are one in the same.

Is Daley available? Really like him. Solid player.

I mean he's a UFA he's 33 and will unlikely to take a very long term and it's not like he's gonna cost a fortune. Something like 3 years x $5 million AAV would not be insane. I'd say if anything he's an ideal replacement for Garrison. There's no need to make any more trades
