there trying to recoup there lost picks from expansion i don't blame them the price will come down

Snow is the guy who once screwed himself by sticking to his guns on Vanek until every interested team went with plan B. Leaving only montreal. I'm guessing, in this case, we'd move on to plan B before the price comes down.

I could see a situation here where Snow hangs onto Hamonic, thinking that once Scandella and his defensive cohort are traded, his trade value will increase.

Depends where he goes, I think. My guess is when a couple of teams find help elsewhere, Snow will lower his price and try to keep two teams bidding. But, since this is Garth Snow, it'll no doubt backfire hilariously in his face.

14th is probably a *tad* much for Scandella, but I think I'd still do it. He makes our D much better right from the jump, isn't that expensive, and keeps Yzerman from offering the moon for Shattenkirk. Trifecta of good reasons.

No.

For Hamonic sure. But Hamonic>>Scandella.

Scandella makes a lot of sense for us. Our D would look pretty good.

Hedman Dotchin
Scandella Stralman

Never been a big fan of Hamonic. I'd rather have Scandella. But I'll take either one over Shattenkirk.

much rather give koekkoek the job over bring in hamonic or scandella and let him sink or swim if cant cut it can always make a move later

hamonic is not worth 2 firsts and scandella is not worth a first especially coming back from hip surgery too many questions guy is not that great is guys like that always available for right moves

no real interest at this point myself be patient stay the course and screw someone at the right time

im ok if we go grab brian boyle back and give gourde the other minutes with erne etc.. at this point see how it shakes up

we got six picks wish was 7-8 moving killorn would be ok for a top six forward or ppqb d man like dumba

otherwise stay the course something will come up later

Definitely wasn't last year.

For the first part of the year - sure. After he came back from injury he looked fantastic.

He can skate the puck out of pressure and has a good first pass. He's absolutely a good PMD, and it would be an insane luxury to be able to have him on our second pair.

Was he really all that fantastic at creating offense though? He was definitely fantastic, over all, once we slotted him down. Made all the difference to his defensive game. But I don't remember him waking up offensively all that much.

I still like the idea of creating a Hedman-Stralman Lite for the second pairing.

I just mean, it feels like last year just about everybody (including management) came to the conclusion that the problem with our offense was actually a problem with our defense's ability to move the puck to the forwards. I don't think we should be standing pat in that sense, with the same puckmoving D as last year.

Pretty much don't think we get anything done tonight in trades! What do we have to offer our biggest trade chip drouin was already moved last week. Yzerman has already stated he does not like to trade first round draft picks! Well the wild and islanders want the 14th pick for a d man. So unless yzerman moves that pick I see nothing going down.

He had 7 points (3g, 4a) in the last 9 games he played, all even strength. He turned it up just fine - nagging injuries and frankly just an awful start hampered him, but I'm not the least bit worried about Stralman going forward.
