I've probably been more disappointed in Brodzinski than any other player this year. He had swagger when he was trying to break in, anyone remember these quotes?

“At this point, I don’t want to just try and make the [big club’s roster] anymore,” he emphasized. “I want to make an impact and try to change the team for the better—help out in any way that I can. That’s the mindset I’m going [into training camp] with, and I think it’s the mindset I need to have, coming into a team.” “I’ve worked so hard,” he added. “I feel like it’s my turn now. I’m trying to make the most of it.”

Well, he hasn't done squat to make an impact at the NHL level, although he's shown he can be a beastly AHL guy. His shot is nails, but he hasn't shown the ability to get to the spots to release it with regularity. The soft areas are so much smaller in the NHL he doesn't seem to be able to make that adjustment. He's been playing hesitant in every single NHL game he's been in, and right now it doesn't look like that's going to change because it's between the ears. I wish he would take a page out of Martinez's book, he gets pummeled more than anyone else when it comes to doing whatever it takes to make a play. And the plays get made.

Hello Kings Fans ... Norwegian hockey media is talking about
a potential trade of Mats Zuccarello to Kings . How do people feel about that?

Good player and fun to watch. Just unsure about what the rangers would want and where Zuccarello would fit with us. We don't have many, if any, players under 6'0.

I.E.
IMO he would be the perfect guy for us , he would provide secondary scoring and a spark of excitement to the team , and the rangers need a shakeup too,

Brodzinski will never be successful on the 4th line playing 6 minutes with Mitchell or any other non-skilled defensive center. Nor will he be successful if he never gets PP minutes. His game is somewhat one-dimensional, but it's a dimension that matters. Putting the puck in the net. And it's wasting his potential how he is being used now. They either have to bite the bullet and give him a real chance to succeed or let him wallow in obscurity. Otherwise, put him back in the A and continue on his game were he creates results.

I mean we bring in Zucc as a team that thinks it can win right.... No point unless you think we can retool quick and make a run.

Pearson, 2-2-4
Kopitar, 1-3-4
Kempe, 2-1-3
Lewis, 2-1-3
Shore, 1-1-2
Forbort, 1-1-2
Muzzin, 0-2-2
Iafallo, 0-2-2
Toffoli, 1-0-1
Brown, 0-1-1
Doughty, 0-1-1
Gaborik, 0-1-1
Folin, 0-1-1

Kuemper, .906sv%
Quick, .876sv%
Total, .883sv%

Not that the numbers should be expected to be or look good during a 5 game losing streak.

1st periods - outscored 5-2
2nd periods - outscored 7-2
3rd periods, outscored 7-6(with 2 EN goals against)

Outscored 12-4 by the start of the 3rd period. Which can't be made up for with just a 6-5 advantage in the 3rd.

I'm at a loss when trying to figure out what this team is. It's definitely not good enough to spend assets to bring in a pending UFA and expect a cup. LA is more than a piece away IMO. Dealing for a Green or DionP may help them get better, just not good enough to win a cup. I'm almost at the point watching the games thinking that they may be better off as sellers, but that won't happen. LA can't be sellers and expect Doughty to resign, which is a whole nother hornets nest to think about.

I disagree. I think this team is good enough to build on. Three easy steps

1. Carter return

- Carter in the top 6 adds a 30 goal scorer that plays defence and can carry a line. Something that is needed by one dimensional players like Toffoli.

2. Add a quality Dman

- this team needs probably 2 dman if we truely want to be considered lethal. One shutdown, one pp specialist. Unfortunately we don't have/want to use all our assets so a combined guy would be great but very costly. Imagine a top guy like McDonaugh paired with Doughty or solidifying the second pairing. Would cost a ton but wow what a major piece

3. New coach. I didn't say much when he was hired as everyone deserves a shot. I like what Blake has done with acquisitions so far and trust him in the future. Unfortunately I think in going with Stevens, he provides to much old regime coaching to this team and the team has become very readable or productive.

I question some of his lineup choices and who he uses in certain situations. There is a difference from sutter but still many similarities. In the past the team could rely on a defense first system as we had the dmen to do it and 4 lines of responsible forwards that could aid led by 4 stud centers in their slotted roles.

Today we have a good team that does not have the center depth or the defensive depth to truely play that defensive shutdown game.

I believe we need a coach that brings in a whole new philosophy. Horses like Kopitar, Carter, Lewis will will always play great D as it is engrained in them. We need guys that let loose and play more free.

We need a coach that allows some creativity. I love watching Kempe. Grab puck push hard into other teams zone. No drop pass crap.

Anyways that's my rant

Thunder Bay Ont. Can
Avoid Bogosian at all costs.
I think he would do well here Cali weather seem to be a good remedy for vets with health issues See handzus williams mitchell etc Also a change of scenery would do him well He would benefit from not having to be the guy or 2nd guy He can just be a part of the defense. He wouldn't have the pressure he did in buffalo Also our system is better suited for him imo.

Funky, I'm just not as optimistic as you. I think that to expect Carter to come in and fix the offense immediately is a tough sell. Carter will absolutely help in more ways than one. There's just an odd dynamic to this team that I can't pinpoint. Maybe there's a separation between the cup players and no-cup players, or they're lacking a WillieMitchell-Greene-Williams presence in the room. Maybe I'm just seeing things or looking for reasons why the team is the way it is.
