Yeah, I'd like to see one of Gravel/LaDue moved. I'd rather Gravel, but if trading LaDue means we can get a nicer piece I'm all for it. Gotta be worth it though, I like LaDue.

I don't think LaDue is getting traded. Didn't an exec (forget which one) refer to LaDue as part of the future?

I mean, if they're never going to integrate LaDue, might as well move him. I don't like the idea because we don't really have another guy like him close to NHL ready, but he's just rotting and losing value at this point since he's been on the cusp of breaking thru. Same with Gravel to a degree.

If Vilardi gets moved it had better be for something that instantly wins us the Cup, anything less would be failure.

I don't see management moving Vilardi, Clague or Peterson. I'm guessing everyone else is far game, but I'd hate to lose LaDue for a winger that we can't resign or do for to much money.

I would something like Pearson a 2nd or 3rd round pick plus Gravel for Patoretty.

Why? He's not worth the value it would be to trade for him. He's not the kind of guy the Kings need. The Kings need someone that can create offense and scoring opportunities by himself. It would be smarter to go after a guy that can provide the same skill set as Patches for less price like a Tatar, Nyquist or Grabner.

This. Patches is going to be overvalued (and maybe he should be) due to market and visibility.

17 Goals. Would you trade a first, a top prospect, and an established NHL player for Adrian Kempe? Kempe's not even getting top line minutes and he's 1 goal behind Jesus Pacioretty. Montreal can go **** itself.

If it wasn't clear, I"ve been a vocal advocate against a Patches trade.

I'm only saying maybe he should be overvalued in the sense that MTL has f***ed themselves up seven ways from Sunday. Maybe they'll get it right. Not from us though.

Pacioretty has scored at a 34 goal pace for the past 6 years, and that includes this year, by far his worst season since he was a rookie.

He has never been on a team as good as the Kings, and never played with a center as good as Kopitar.

If Montreal will deal him for some combo of Toffoli, Pearson and picks/prospects the Kings should really look into it.

I think it’s Pearson or Toffoli they are after, not both. I would be okay with Pearson and 2nd for Pac.

If you think Pacioretty stinks and isn't worth trading based on this one season I assume you felt the same way about Jeff Carter in 2012?

Same situation, a talented player who produced every year before suddenly ending up up in a nightmare situation on a terrible team. Dean was able to swoop in and get him at a significant discount on what he would have been traded for a year before or a year after. Maybe Blake can do the same thing with Pacioretty, no way would Montreal have considered trading him for a package highlighted by Toffoli a year ago.

Pacioretty doesn't "Stink". He's also not signed to a contract that would keep him a King for 8 more years.

Fair enough on the contract point. But you sound ridiculous comparing Kempe to him based on one season. Pacioretty is no more a 20 goal scorer than Carter was a 50 point player in 2012.

And the idea of making a trade like this is to go for it before a Doughty contract kicks in. You get two chances to win a cup with a premier 29 year old goal-scoring winger when Kopitar is 30 and 31, Carter is 32 and 33, Quick is 32 and 33 and Doughty is 28 and 29 and Muzzin is 29 and 30.

Pacioretty is quite soft. His playoff performances aren't anything special. He most certainly isn't worth a cost controlled prospect like Vilardi. The Kings need a player that can generate scoring chances on his own. There are enough players on the team that struggle with that.
BTW, Wolverines suck. :P :)

Since the start of last season, they're 9-12-3 at home against the Pacific. 6-7-1 last year, 3-5-2 so far this year, which is somehow a worse points% this year. Considering the obstacles faced each season, how they're doing worse this year is a mystery. That's 21 points. Pacific opponents coming into LA are 15-7-2, for 32 points. If every division game is a 4 point one, that's a big difference.

The road team is getting points in 71% of the games. 63% of the time they're leaving with a win, and it's 70% this year.

I think this is not comparable. Carter was better, younger, signed till eternity on a good deal, and the Kings had the assets without getting worse.

I can see a trade with Toffoli and pick or Pearson and a 1st. I dont like it at all but can see it.

Toffoli is an UFA in 2020 and will get paid. Perhaps Kings see a better player in Pacioretty, though older, and are planning to use this money on him.

I never liked Toffoli’s deal, should have been long term with higher cap hit.
