Kings defense is already a weakness. We can’t afford to trade our 2nd best defenseman right now for a winger and a #5 or 6 guy

I think Blake is done pretty much. Add Carter. Added to defense and mid-range scoring while dealing zero picks or prospects save for the pick to get Mitchell.

I don't expect anything big at this point and it's probably best that there isn't.

I can see doing that. If a bottom 6er or Gravel doesn't fit in now that Phaneuf is here and LaDue is developing, I would like to see a solid done for whoever gets traded. Get them a chance to go where they can get playing time.

Agree 100% but I'm surprised. I thought you wanted the Kings to sell? Not trying to single you out, but why did you change your mind?

Only thing at this point I'd like to see from Blake is try to trade a bottom 6 forward for a pick or make a package with one of the younger dmen for a top 6 winger like Hoffman/Nyquist/Tatar depending on cap.

The Kings secondary scoring issues are going to have to be addressed internally. We are sinking or swimming with Toffoli and Pearson. And ff Toffoli and/or Pearson end the season the way they have been playing the last two months I expect one or both to be traded this summer.

Ya I think one of our defenseman is getting traded if LaDue called up. If there was an injury Gravel could slot in. Why have 8 defensemen now? Also, with Phaneuf’s play, and Fantenberg and MacDermont available, we can afford to trade Gravel, Forbort or LaDue for a winger.

The Kings barely leave southern California until March 18th, with just this one game before the deadline. The Reign have one game in Bakersfield before the deadline. I'm not sure calling up a defenseman means anything more than calling up a defenseman for whatever non-trade reason Blake has. If Doughty is nursing something, then LaDue at least gives you something offensively.

I am resigned to the likely outcome of Blake not selling at the deadline. That being the case, it is better if he does nothing. Robitaille and Blake are going to try to squeeze a playoff round out of this roster. I think it would be in the team's best interest long term to sell at the deadline, but we will have to wait until the off season for reality to set in.

i don't think you can mortgage vilardi for a year and change of pacioretty, as much as i like pacioretty

Pearson is needed IMO - He seems to get infront of the net more than any other player - qite a few goals he gets no points for but is in the keepers way - we lack that - I am happy with Carter and Lewis back and getting Vilardi next year - would be happy if we can somehow trade a Clifford plus Gravel plus a 2nd and a 3rd or something like that for a player that will help - not sure if we can take on salary now since the latest trade.

Don't want Patches. We just need Carter back to jumpstart toffoli and Pearson. Slot everyone else where they should be and let our revamped defensive pairings set things up.

Some of you have rather unrealistic expectations. This team as it's constructed, as of right now is three points out of 2nd in the Pacific with a game in hand. I don't think it's unrealistic to say that 55 more games of Jeff Carter would easily be worth 5-10 points in the standings. They're not as bad as some of you make them out to be.

And yeah, f*** trading Vilardi.
