Wherever they line up exactly, Amadio is at 40% on faceoffs, which is barely better than Kempe, and worse than Lewis. Since getting recalled in Jan, he's at 32.6%. He can play center if he wants, just not on draws. Until he figures it out anyway.

Shore was doing better lately though.

Can Vanek still skate?

Not sure about that, but he's still capable at scoring with 16 goals and 38 points on the season. Seems like he always scores against the Kings as well.

Patrick Maroon could be another possibility. I don't know if a Kunitz or Calvert fit that description as they're considerably lesser options, and there really isn't an abundance of scoring wingers on the market that's available.

As someone mentioned in an earlier post, I would think that winger may be Grabner. Perhaps even Vanek.

So Grabner, Vanek, Maroon(which would be fun with Doughty). It'll have to be somewhat cheap though. I don't think Blake will give up a 1st. Unless it's another conditional pick, which both Lombardi and Blake have used a lot lately.

Blake isn't desperate. Hasn't been. I think what he's done, including last night, shows that. If he gets nobody and goes with Kempe on LW or C after Carter gets back, he'll roll with it. I'm guessing he'll try something, but not force it. They're not defending champs anymore.

I think he senses that as well. I'm looking at a Modin type of move, as it appears that's the type of forward they're looking at adding. A short term addition who won't cost much who is capable of scoring and playing alongside Kopitar.

Sharp or Vrbata then.

Even when Carter returns our line-up will be a little strange. Are we having Clifford play with Kempe? Brodzinski?

Iafallo-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Clifford-Kempe-Lewis
Thompson-Mitchell-Brodzinski

Pretty sad post-cup era for the Kings at the moment. We are no different than the Rangers. Good enough to be in the bubble for the playoff race, but not strong enough to compete with the elite teams. Like last year, we just have to ride out this year and hope Vilardi is all he is cracked up to be and can join our roster next year. I also don't have much fate in our defense outside of Doughty.

Glad to see Blake is working the phone. A bottom 6 scoring winger would be awesome.

If Brock Nelson is available then Blake should show some leg, and try to get him

It seems there's a lot of middle wingers available honestly. I think getting one for cheap might be easier than any other position.

The question is, will we get the RIGHT one for cheap?

Why the fascination with Maroon? Guy is a direct result of McDavid. Put him on the Kings on the 3rd line and he wouldn't score more than 10 goals. Then again for the Kings 10 goals on the 3rd line is good.

Probably his willingness to crash the net and a big body presence around the crease. Too many Kings forwards prefer the perimeter.

I don't think Maroon is the best option, but he definitely would be an improvement over Iafallo as a top six option. Plus, his 14 goals and 29 points would match him with Pearson in terms of production this season. His cap hit of $1.5M is also very manageable.
