I know it's the Weekly World News, but...

Lmao

Just looked up the Drouin trade to see when it happened and couldn't believe Tampa Bay also got a 2nd rounder with Sergachev. I know Drouin is on a terrible team and Sergachev on one of the best but man that trade looks lopsided so far.

Yeah but not really the same thing since both were essentially prospects or at least really young and gonna be with their teams for a really long time. I'm more worried about the Kopitar-esque prospect going for a rental.5. Especially given Patches is a winger. Patches, Kane, Nash, those are not guys I give premium picks and prospects for, bidding war be damned, because while they might put a team with insane center depth over the top, they don't do much for us.

Pearson, Martinez, JAD, Petersen, Fantenberg, Frolin, Mitchell and Shore....

These are the names I would be willing to move for a variety of options...

I understood what you were saying. I checked to see when the Drouin trade happened, I couldn't remember when, and just shared a thought on it.

Massive difference in value between Max and those two guys.

He would be dynamic with Kopitar and gives the Kings the kind of finisher they lack on the PP. And he isn't a rental, signed through next season so it doesn't matter in regards to Doughty deal. This is a 35+ goal-scorer for basically the last 5 seasons with nothing at C. I think he could be a 40+ goal guy here.

If the Kings had a Voynov or Mitchell type on the roster and a better prospect pool I would strongly consider it. But this team isn't close enough to a cup and the pipeline is pretty bad.

Are you saying there's a massive difference between Pacioretty and Nash and Kane? As a rental I'd rather have Nash out of the 3. Really good 2-way possession forward. Would seem to fit in well with Kopitar.

I wouldn't move Jared Anderson-Dolan or Petersen, unless they got a player in his prime who is locked up and can offer many years of production, ala Jeff Carter, and that is unlikely to happen.

Yes, I believe Pacioretty has way more value on the trade market than either one. Kane is a cancer, so count him out.

Nash is 4 years older than Pacioretty and is a one-playoff rental, ofcourse Blake laughed and hung up if the Rangers asked for Valardi.

Pacioretty is at another level as an offensive player from Nash and that is what the Kings desperately need, a left handed shot that can play with Kopitar and on #1 PP unit. He is also signed through next season, which would be ideal if the Kings were contenders because he is not a rental, you get him for two playoff seasons BEFORE the Doughty contract kicks in. I mean honestly if the Kings had a championship caliber team you would have to really consider for that reason.

Ahh, I forgot Pacioretty has another year left on his deal. That makes him a lot more valuable, I agree. I also hadn't realized Nash's offensive numbers look so terrible the last few seasons. Decent amount of goals but horrible assist numbers. You've sold me, I'll take Pacioretty over the other two.

I posted a video of Dustin Brown hoisting the Stanley Cup in the all-purpose hate Brown thread on the main boards.
You should post both cups and titled it,First American Born Captain to raise two cups and probably post some video's of Browns hits lol.

Count me in as somebody who didn't think Tampa got enough for Drouin, but it's easy to forget how cap space is an asset. But like you said, Drouin isn't in the greatest spot in Montreal. Pretty much everybody agrees that he's being shoehorned in at center. I haven't watched a ton of Tampa this year, but I couldn't help but wonder if Sergachev happened to be in an ideal/sheltered spot with Victor Hedman eating the harder minutes.

Also the 2nd rounder was conditional on whether Sergachev played 40 games this season. Since he has, Tampa will not receive the pick.

He's amongst the most sheltered minutes in the league on the best team in the league, yeah. Hell of a future though. And I don't even think that one is bad as a straight up trade, Drouin for Sergachev.

And he scored some big goals in that 2014 run as well, particularly the OT game winner in Game 1, and of course, he completely undressed Lundqvist in Game 4.

Game 2 as Game 1 was Williams, but who's keeping track of the last good thing to happen to the Kings?

Pretty sure he knocked Beleskey out of the Ducks series, which wasn't anything to scoff at like it would be now.

Anyways, they can never take away how dominant he was in the 2012 playoffs. Insane physical force in every series to go along with all of the points.

His full-series clowning of Clarkson in the SCFs is a favorite "under the radar" Kings moment for me. He abused that guy all series and it was really pissing Clarkson off.

While I def. wouldn't do any deal involving Vilardi, Pacioretty does have a ton of upside and hence why he would cost quite a bit

$4.5 million cap hit signed for this season and next
Pure goal scorer, something the Kings sorely have lacked ever since Palffy (besides Carter)
Would thrive on a line with Kopitar, as Kopitar has shown he prefers to be a playmaking, hard-working center rather than being dominant

I dunno. Our cupboard is bare but I don't see Blake as going after the Nash/Kane rental scenario.

The only thing I'm scared about is losing Doughty. He is the team. If we don't make it to the post season, he'll walk next season.

I think a trade with Montreal for Drouin would make sense. Drouin is not a natural center, and the Habs are forcing him to become one because they lack center depth. As much as I would not want to trade Vilardi, I would be open to trading him if Drouin was coming back in return. I would do a package of our 1st round, Vilardi, and somebody else for Drouin.

Bergevin is as arrogant as they come

three players that will NOT be traded: Price, Drouin, and Weber

I'd be surprised if the Habs gave up on Drouin after one season. Galchenyuk on the other hand.....

No offense but MaxPac is nowhere near the goal scorer Ziggy Palffy was! Heck, even Carter wasn’t close to Palffy... I want no part of Pax on this team, we need more youth, speed and defense not playoff disappearing acts

I would trade Pearson and JAD for patches but I doubt that would be enough
