ESPN 3 is ESPN's streaming service. I don't have much experience with it, but looking on their site, there are a few things that get leaked onto ESPN 3 from ESPN and "The Deuce".

I imagine that, at the very least, they would stick replays of all games up there. Streaming it live would be a possibility, too. I've noticed they tend not to announce these details very far in advance.

Unfortunately, from what I gather, you have to be authenticated by a cable provider or an internet service provider.

But either way, the shows marked "ESPN 3" should definitely be available live on the net...and, in fact, will ONLY be available online, since there is no actual ESPN 3 on TV.

EDIT: Doh. I didn't even notice that the ESPN 3 games are basically WCOH scrimmages. Bleah. But they do put up some of the wackier stuff online, like spelling bees, poker, and MathCounts, so who knows.

I'd imagine if your in the know of streaming there's multiple sites that will have the games on.

As for the Bruins yeah, you can get every game streamed in decent quality if you know where to go. That's how I watch at work when the boss leaves and I work late

NHL studio analyst Barry Melrose, SportsCenter anchors Steve Levy and John Buccigross and former NHL goalie Kevin Weekes will call ESPN’s telecasts of the World Cup of Hockey 2016 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre from September 17 – October 1. A minimum of 16 games (17 if the Final goes three) will be televised.

In addition, Hall of Famers and former NHLers Chris Chelios and Brett Hull will join ESPN to provide studio analysis and work with hosts John Saunders, Adnan Virk and John Buccigross. Leah Hextall will serve as an ice-level reporter for each game. SportsCenter anchor Linda Cohn will provide features.

I have to look up what channel's ESPN are on Verizon. Literally haven't watched that network in 10 years? Not since they had hockey.

can you stream from a smart tv or does this have to be from an app?
bottom line, I don't wanna pay directtV $100 just to watch the occasional Bruins game.

I work for a cable company, so I don't need any other channels. I have all those apps and crap for free. But the live tv app doesn't have a NESN channel and I cant find any live nesn channel app

Henrik Zetterberg will miss the tournament, he was supposed to captain team Sweden. Not sure how big a loss it is, but it won't be anywhere near as big as losing him and H. Sedin (as well as Bäckström for the final) was in Sochi.

I can't wait.

I think I'm going to be rooting for Team North America. So excited to see these young future franchise kids play together.

I'm rooting for Team NA too, but for a slightly different reason.

O Canada can you see?
By the dawn's native land

Now imagine team Europe's. ;)

Edit:

Denmark
Slovakia
Germany
Switzerland
Italy
France
Slovenia
Austria
Norway

Someone should do a mashup of these anthems and put on youtube.

Maybe I will get more amped as it gets closer, but am I the only one who's almost completely disinterested right now in the WC?

Hey Cotton, I heard they are going to have complete 24/7 coverage on the Ocho?

No, you are not the only one. This shinny tournament will be popular for those in Canada and that's about it.

I'm excited for it, but mainly because I'm jonesin' to watch hockey, not because of a rooting interest or nationalistic pride.

I like the idea of the Under 23 team, too. I read a quote of Johnny Gaudreau discussing how weird it will be playing against the team he grew up rooting for.

We may also get to see Matt Murray without Pitt's 'system' so we can see how he fares.

As for it being a game of shinny, I certainly hope so! ;) I have found the less-physical NHL a tad boring, so if they aren't hitting much in the WCOH, but they are skating and taking chances, I'm all for it.

I'm also curious to see how this plays out on an NHL sized rink, as I didn't find the Olympic sized rink in Sochi to be a benefit.

Easy. Europe already has an anthem:

Just the instrumental, with obligatory humming from the players, the whole song through.

I was going to suggest this, but I guess it's more suitable for Team Canada (or the Habs):

Krejci won't participate due to his injury.

Shame...

Also, good! Hope our players will get through it unscathed.

Do Chara & Seids play as pair for Team Europe?

Who plays goal for team USA, Bishop, Quick or Schneider?

Does Backes play wing or center for USA?

Why is Michal Jordon playing for Czechs? Is he better than everyone thinks?

Who actually wants to play goal for the NA under 23 team?

On the couch
Glad Krejci's out. Just looked up the old article at the time of the surgery. On 5/3, they said five months. That puts him at the tail end of this month, or early next month. I sure as hell don't want him busting his hip again in the WCoH - and I'd say that no matter what team he's playing for.

Honestly, I thought I'd be so starved for hockey by now that I'd be ready to watch WCoH practice/scrimmage games. Nope. And it's not the NA/Europe gimmick, because I actually think that's a reasonable solution, at least for the first go-around of the tourney. Maybe I'm just scared to death that something will happen to one of our players. Among Krejci, Pasta, Rask, Bergeron, Marchand, Backes, and Chara, I don't know who you can live with being injured.

I remember after the WC of 1984-John Tonelli and especially Brent Sutter blasting out of the NHL gate and had their best seasons. Hopefully,we see some of that here.

Not sure why I`m just not that excited for this yet? Perhaps once it kicks in I`ll start forming some interest. I`ll be honest, as long as NO Bruin comes out of this injured, I`m fine

haha, I won`t bash it, but I`m an old bugger who still gets pumped watching old Canada Cup highlights who`s a little less excited about this tourney. I recall vividly being absolutely pumped prior to the CC starting, this? Not yet but in all fairness, I`ve been taking in a ton of MY :) Halifax Mooseheads TC and pre-season
