Zibanejad is possible but no Backlund.

Forsberg are new star but maybe he's off next year.

Forsberg is national team star. In WC.

Zibanejad in Forsberg position in my swedish team.

Lander was a homer choice since I am an EDM supporter... I already left out Klefbom, so I had to put him in there :).

Forgot Berglund to be honest... Kruger was the closest for me, and would have taken Hagelin's place if it was not for Hagelin's speed which may be needed. Soderberg is great, but I don't think he is a fit for 4C, and higher up in the lineup there is no room.

The thing that stood out to me was.

Erisksson-Lander-Forsberg
racking 2 against crosby's line in a 3-0 lead over Canada at the world's.
TMac moving Crosby away from that line.

Lander was a major Influence at end of year in Edmonton!
Tmac saw what he can do with real wingers.
Interesting to see who he plays with next year as our 3rd center.

Again, no way Eriksson doesn't make this team. He just consistently racks up points every time he's on the national team, and he actually wants to play with Tre Kronor.

This is probably true. Though I do not want the Sedins and Eriksson in the top 6.

Steen - Bäckström - Silvferberg
Nyquist - Zetterberg - Hörnqvist
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Landeskog - Söderberg - Forsberg

OK, a fourth line who makes 100.000.000 SEK a year... ?? What happened with Matti Pauna - Michael Andersson - L-G Pattersson?

Landeskog - Zetterberg - Karlsson Erik (worlds best puck carrying, offensive zone bringing it, "forward")
Steen - Bäckström - Franzén (heavy line, could be skipped depending on play and Bäckströms PP time)
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson (they look like average hockey players but are not)
Forsberg - Backlund - Silfverberg (sort of Lindström - Backlund - Möller but different, better)
Johansson - Berglund (one in the middle and one on the side)

Ekman Larsson - Hjalmarsson
Hedman - Strålman
Lindholm - Brodin
Edler - Nemeth (Hannula, Tallinder etc)

Lumquest
Lenny
Läck (leakage, not lack of, every goalie leaks in some degree)

Axelsson - Berglund - Forsberg (talent)
Steen - Bäckström - Ze Bad Jihad (bringing home the bacon)
Landeskog - Sedin - Karlsson Erik (betisurpriseduthere)
Sedin - Söderberg - Silfverberg (will play like gods)
Backlund - Klingberg Carl

Ekman Larsson - Edler (Alex, give the puck to Oliver!)
Enström - Hedman (Eagleshieldbay)
Hjalmarsson - Brodin (defensive instincts)
Lindholm - Nemeth (for Xby or McD should they turn E.T.)

Lenny
Lumquest
Forsberg

I doubt Enström ever will play for tre kronor again.

That's why I removed Karlsson and paired him with a MoDo-buddy. Enström is underrated. He has developed his defensive play and they let him score at a pace of 1.0 PPG at the beginning of the seasons. In Winnipeg. Together with Hedman he won't be small.

Already stars:

Karlsson
Ekman-Larsson
Hedman

Hjalmarsson

(Enström)

One of these will be a star in one year:

Edler (maybe is already)
Klingberg
Brodin
Larsson
Lindholm (my bet)
Klefbom

I have great hopes for Filip Forsberg, I have "always" (as in since his Leksand days) liked him, great talent and great work ethics and not afraid to take charge, a future leader. It would be awesome if he could have a even better season next season in the NHL. That would bring the Swedish another forward group an extra guy to rally around, if one of Swedens important centers Zetterberg/Bäckström/H.Sedin would be injured.

My hope is that he has roughly the same totals this season, but round out his game a bit. Teams will keep a check on him from the start now.

I'm also very high on Lindholm still.

According to Expressen (liberal) and Jonathan Lindqvist (intern?) Team Sweden could look like this:

Steen – Bäckström – Forsberg
Hörnqvist – Zetterberg - Nyquist
Sedin – Sedin – Landeskog
Silfverberg – Backlund – Hagelin
Krüger

Hedman РStr̴lman
Lindholm – Karlsson
Ekman Larsson – Hjalmarsson
Brodin

Lundqvist
Läck
Enroth

Here's my second team. All players on the "bubble" from Expressens article are there (in bold)

Eriksson – Söderberg - Lindholm
Johansson – Berglund – Josefson
Rask – Zibanejad – Fast
Franzén – Lander – Karlsson
Wennberg

Kronwall – Ericsson
Edler – Klingberg
Enström – Oduya
Ekholm

Lehner / Markström / Nilsson

^^

Hörnqvist over Loui...haven't they learned?

I'd also find a way to give Söderberg a spot. He's by far the best replacement if one of our top centers go down.

Agree, Zibanejad might be on his way but feels a little soft on third center position. Also Loui over Hagelin.

Sweden could be sending two teams that are competitive for the WC if all were healthy. It's difficult to find any weaknesses from the team Sweden is about to send.

Strålman should make the team with Hedman - perhaps playing on a second pairing behind Karlsson and OEL. Kronwall would probably make the team, barring injury, on experience/leadership alone. 1 spot left.

I would be disgusted if Edler or something was selected instead of Strålman.

Something that would be fun would be Karlsson out as a forward.

I think Brodin's spot is probably hanging loose. He was never really in to begin with. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the D situation gets solved by a couple of declines. Good to have 9-10 options.

I'd be shocked if one of Kronwall, Karlsson, OEL, Hedman & Hjalmarsson wasn't invited. That's 5/6 locks in the lineup, the sixth is very likely Strålman. Brodin, Lindholm, Edler etc. will battle it out for that extra D spot. Brodin would be my preference.

The hoard of younger talented D-men might be the end of Kronwall in Tre kronor. The rest is locks, but on the other hand we will as usually get like one of all the players you mentioned in your post.

I don't necessarily think Kronwall makes our team better, but I think his reputation as a winner/leader makes him a lock no matter how he looks next season.

Center depth is a bit of an issue we need at least one of Zetterberg and Sedin to stay healthy and keep producing to have that superstar edge up front.

Kronwall has that intimidation factor too that also makes him valuable.

If Strålman doesn't fall of a cliff he should be a lock.
And please let's not use the best defenseman in the world as a forward.

Karlsson
Hedman
Ekman-Larsson
Hjalmarsson
Stralman
Edler
Kronwall
Lindholm
Brodin
Larsson

Young guys could surpass Kronwall and Edler
