Wideman was a bit shaky early in the game against Canada but since then he has played well. Warsofsky has been solid and real good on the powerplay as far as distributing.
I was encouraged again today (didnt see everything....was stealing views during work). Loving how Matthews and Foligno looked. I also love Frankie V but Im biased, as a Bruins fan.
Group A is so messed up. Dont know what to wish for. Dont see much difference btw Czechs, Russians, Swedes, etc...Might be best served just finishing 4th in our Group so we avoid Canada in the semi's.

Team USA won't lose to Slovakia...so it won't happen. Yanks are gonna finish 3rd. Probably means a date with Russia in QF's. Real Tough Opponent, especially if/ when they get reinforcements!
Finishing 4th would be ideal, honestly. Russia will have some elite players coming over but they won't win their group. Finishing 3rd in this group likely means the US plays Russia in the quarters and I'll pass on that. If they get Nelson and a good defensemen to join the team and Connor returns, I think they can beat the Czechs and beat Finland/Sweden. Russia/Canada will beat them but finishing 4th would ensure not playing them at all in QF or SF. I think they'll finish 3rd in the group tho.
I was at the game and I'd say US controlled the possession in the Finnish end more than Finland did. But two breakdowns and a power play killed us. That's what good teams do. Still this bodes well for our chances of knocking someone off in the quarters.

Why is Eichel not there?? Does he have an injury of some sort that I'm not aware of?
I know that it is a huge jump from college hockey were they only play 40 to 50 games to the NHL were he played 81 games. Is that really an excuse to not play for team USA? It would be a great experience. Besides, team USA could really use him!
I just hope that he plays for team North America in the world cup. That might be the 1 and only time we see Jack Eichel and Connor McDavid play on the same team.
